彼將為主前驅、以以利亞情性才能、使父慈其子、逆者慕義人之智慧、為主備作新之民

蓋諸先知及律法、預言至約翰、若爾願承我言、當來之以利亞、即斯人也、

蓋羔大怒之日至矣、孰能當之、

日變晦冥、月為血色、我耶和華顯赫之日隨至、

野有聲呼云、在彼曠野、備我上帝耶和華之道、直其徑。

萬有之主耶和華曰、降災之日伊邇、必爇若爐、驕侈之輩、作惡之流、有若蒭蕘、屆期必燬之、使其根株、靡有孑遺、

然則爾出、欲何觀耶、先知者乎、誠然、吾語汝、是卓越於先知者、記有之、我遣我使在爾前、備爾道者、即斯人也、吾語汝、婦之所生、未有先知、大於施洗約翰者、然上帝國之至微、尤大於斯人也、○

我將示奇事於天、異兆於地、若血若火若烟、日變晦冥、月為血色、而主赫顯之日將至矣、

又問曰、爾非基督非以利亞、非先知、何為施洗耶、

旁立者聞之、曰、彼呼以利亞也、其中一人疾走、取海絨漬醯、束葦飲之、有曰、姑聽之、試觀以利亞來救之否、○
