Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said,“ Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.”

Late in the afternoon the 12 disciples came to him. They said,“ Send the crowd away. They can go to the nearby villages and countryside. There they can find food and a place to stay. There is nothing here.”

Now the day began to wear away, and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the crowd away to go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.”

Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said,“ Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.”

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to him,“ Send the crowd away, so that they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

Now the day was ending, and the twelve came up and said to Him,“ Dismiss the crowd, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; because here, we are in a secluded place.”

When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”

And the day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages and country round about, and lodge, and get provisions: for we are here in a desert place.

Now the day began to draw to a close, so the twelve came and said to Jesus,“ Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and food, because we are in an isolated place.”

The day began to wear away; and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

耶稣一句话也不回答她。门徒上前求他说：“请叫她走吧，她一直跟在我们后面喊叫。”

他们妄论神，说：“神可以在旷野摆设筵席吗？他虽曾击打磐石，使水涌出来，好像江河泛滥，他还能赐粮食吗？他还能为自己的子民预备肉食吗？”

天晚了，门徒前来对他说：“这里是旷野的地方，天已经很晚了，请叫他们散开，好让他们往周围的田舍村庄去，自己买点东西吃。”耶稣回答他们：“你们给他们吃吧！”门徒说：“要我们去买两百银币的饼给他们吃吗？”耶稣说：“去看看你们有多少饼！”他们知道了，就说：“五个饼，还有两条鱼。”耶稣吩咐他们叫大家分组坐在青草地上。他们就一排一排地坐了下来，有一百的，有五十的。耶稣拿起这五个饼、两条鱼，望着天，祝谢了；然后把饼擘开，递给门徒摆在群众面前，又把两条鱼也分给群众。大家都吃了，并且吃饱了。他们把剩下的零碎捡起来，装满了十二个篮子，吃饼的人，男人就有五千。

黄昏的时候，门徒前来对他说：“这是旷野的地方，时间也不早了，请叫群众散开，好让他们往村里去，买自己的食物吧。”耶稣回答：“他们用不着离开，你们给他们吃吧！”但门徒说：“我们这里除了五个饼和两条鱼，什么也没有。”他说：“拿过来给我。”于是吩咐群众坐在草地上，拿起那五个饼两条鱼，望着天，祝谢了；然后把饼擘开，递给门徒，门徒又分给群众。大家都吃了，并且吃饱了，他们把剩下的零碎拾起来，装满了十二个篮子。吃的人，除了妇女和孩子，约有五千。

耶稣叫门徒前来，说：“我怜悯这一群人，因为他们跟我在一起已经有三天，也没有什么吃的；我不想叫他们饿着肚子回去，恐怕他们在路上晕倒。”

耶稣举目观看，见一大群人向他走过来，就对腓力说：“我们从哪里买饼给这些人吃呢？”他说这话，是要试验腓力，因他自己早已知道要怎样作。腓力回答：“就算二百银币买的饼，每人分一点，也是不够的。”有一个门徒，就是西门．彼得的弟弟安得烈，对耶稣说：“这里有个小孩子，带着五个大麦饼、两条鱼；只是分给这么多人，有什么用呢？”耶稣吩咐他们：“你们叫众人坐下。”原来那地方的草很多，众人就坐下，单是男人的数目约有五千。耶稣拿起饼来，祝谢了，就分给坐着的人；分鱼也是这样，都是随着他们所要的。他们吃饱了之后，耶稣对门徒说：“把剩下的零碎收拾起来，免得浪费。”门徒就把众人吃剩那五个大麦饼的零碎收拾起来，装满了十二个篮子。众人看见耶稣所行的神迹，就说：“这真是那要到世上来的先知。”耶稣知道群众要来强迫他作王，就独自又退到山上去了。

这些事以后，耶稣渡过加利利海，就是提比里亚海。

我曾在旷野，在干旱之地，认识你。

“‘我必与它们立平安的约，使恶兽从境内灭绝，它们就可以在旷野安居，在树林中躺卧。
