你像急流一般把世人沖走，叫他們如夢消逝。他們像清晨的嫩草，清晨還生機盎然，傍晚就凋謝枯萎。你的怒氣使我們滅亡，你的憤怒使我們戰抖。你知道我們的罪惡，對我們隱秘的罪瞭若指掌。

「人子啊，我要突然奪去你心愛的人，你不可悲傷，也不可流淚哭泣。

我們對我主說，『我們有年邁的老父，他在晚年得了一個兒子，這孩子的哥哥已經死了，他母親只剩下他這一個兒子，他父親很疼愛他。』你吩咐僕人們把弟弟帶來給你親眼看看，我們對我主說，『這孩子不能離開他父親，他若離開，他父親一定會死。』

世人的年日如同草芥，如野地茂盛的花，一經風吹，便無影無蹤，永遠消逝。

耶穌和他同去，一大群人跟著祂，擁擠著祂。

人生短暫虛空，如影飛逝，有誰知道什麼對人有益？誰能告訴人死後日光之下會發生什麼事？

早晚之間，他們便被毀滅，永遠消逝，無人察覺。

「人子啊，有一天我要奪去他們所喜悅、所誇耀、眼中所愛、心裡所慕的堡壘，也要奪去他們的兒女。

「我必將施恩和禱告的靈澆灌在大衛家和耶路撒冷的居民身上。他們必仰望我——他們所刺的那位，如喪獨子一般為祂哀傷，如喪長子一般為祂痛哭。
