And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.

Other seed fell among thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender plants.

“ No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.“ That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life— whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer.If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.’”

When Jesus saw this, he said,“ How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”
