他們誣陷人，暗算審判官，冤枉無辜。

惡人窺探義人，伺機謀害。但耶和華不會讓惡人得逞，也不會讓義人在審判時被定罪。

我聽見許多人竊竊私語：「看那個說『四面有恐怖』的人，我們告發他！告發他！」我的好友都盼著我滅亡，說：「或許他會受騙，那樣我們便能打倒他，一泄心頭之恨。」

他們就問他：「祂向你做了些什麼？祂是怎樣醫好你眼睛的？」他回答說：「我已經告訴過你們了，你們不聽，現在又問，難道你們也想作祂的門徒嗎？」他們就罵他：「你才是祂的門徒！我們是摩西的門徒。我們知道上帝曾對摩西講話，至於這個人，我們不知道祂是從哪裡來的。」

謀害我的人設下陷阱，想害我的人威脅我，整天圖謀奸計。

有些法利賽人說：「那個人不是從上帝那裡來的，因為祂不守安息日。」有些人卻說：「如果祂是個罪人，又怎能行這樣的神蹟呢？」他們就爭論起來。

猶太人便對那人說：「今天是安息日，你不可拿著墊子走路。」他說：「那位醫好我的叫我拿起墊子走。」他們問他：「叫你拿起墊子走的人是誰？」那人不知道是誰，因為那裡人多，耶穌已經躲開了。後來，耶穌在聖殿裡遇見他，對他說：「現在你已經完全好了，別再犯罪了，免得你遭遇更不幸的事。」那人便去告訴猶太人醫好他的是耶穌。因為耶穌在安息日給人治病，猶太人開始迫害祂。
