那日（就是七日的第一日）晚上，门徒因怕犹太人，所在的地方门都关了。耶稣来，站在当中，对他们说：“愿你们平安！”说了这话，他把手和肋旁给他们看。门徒一看见主就喜乐了。于是耶稣又对他们说：“愿你们平安！父怎样差遣了我，我也照样差遣你们。”说了这话，他向他们吹一口气，说：“领受圣灵吧！你们赦免谁的罪，谁的罪就得赦免；你们不赦免谁的罪，谁的罪就不得赦免。”那十二使徒中，有个叫低土马的多马，耶稣来的时候，他没有和他们在一起。其他的门徒就对他说：“我们已经看见主了。”多马却对他们说：“除非我看见他手上的钉痕，用我的指头探入那钉痕，用我的手探入他的肋旁，我绝不信。”过了八日，门徒又在屋里，多马也和他们在一起。门都关了，耶稣来，站在当中，说：“愿你们平安！”

他们去告诉其余的门徒，那些门徒还是不信。〕
