遣僕速被柬者赴讌、皆不至；乃遣他僕曰：「告被柬者我已備筵、宰牛殺牲、百物畢具、請來參與嘉禮。」皆置若罔聞、各行其路、或赴田莊、或赴市場、餘人且執其僕、辱而殺之！君王聞之震怒、發兵進討、殲其眾、火其居。乃謂其僕曰：「婚筵既備、而被邀者無德以稱。可往通衢大街、儘爾所遇、邀之來宴。」僕遂出赴街中盡集所遇、無聞善惡、賓客滿堂。王入視客、見一人無禮服、謂之曰：「友、無禮服安得入此？」其人默然。王乃謂侍者曰：「縛其手足、投之幽獄、必有哀哭切齒者矣。」蓋見召者眾、而蒙選者寡也。』於是法利塞輩出而共議、何以即其言而陷之。乃發其黨徒、偕希祿黨人來問耶穌曰：『夫子、吾知爾真實無誑、率陳主道、不顧人情、無所偏袒；敢請明示爾意、納稅於凱撒、宜乎否乎？』耶穌心知其詐、對曰：『虛偽之徒試予何為？且以稅錢示我。』乃出錢示之。耶穌曰：『此誰之像、誰之號歟？』曰：『凱撒也。』曰：『當以凱撒之物歸凱撒、而以天主之物歸天主。』若輩聞而異之、舍之而去。撒杜責人素言人無復活、是日亦進而問之曰：『夫子、摩西曾言、人死無子、弟娶其婦、為兄生子立嗣。茲者吾黨有兄弟七人；長者娶妻、無子而亡、遺婦於弟、其二其三、乃至其七皆然。婦亦旋亡。至復活時。此婦為誰之妻？蓋七人皆曾娶之。』耶穌曰：『爾曹昧於經義、及天主之大能、宜其誤也。蓋復活後、不娶不嫁、一如主之天神。論死者之復活詎未讀天主所曉示於爾者乎？天主曰：「我乃亞伯漢之天主、依灑格之天主、雅各伯之天主。」夫天主非死者之天主、乃生者之天主也。』眾聞其言、嘆服其訓。
