Jesus said to his disciples:“ Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.

Jesus spoke to his disciples.“ Things that make people sin are sure to come,” he said.“ But how terrible it will be for anyone who causes those things to come!

And he said to his disciples,“ Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

One day Jesus said to his disciples,“ There will always be temptations to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!

He said to his disciples,“ Offenses will certainly come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

Now He said to His disciples,“ It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to one through whom they come!

Then He said to the disciples,“ It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!

And he said unto his disciples, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe unto him, through whom they come!

『因了絆跌的事，世界有禍啊！絆跌的事是不能不來的；但絆跌的事由他而來的，那人有禍啊！

為要讓被試驗為可取的人在你們中間顯明出來，你們中間總不能沒有派別的。

所以我們別再彼此論斷了；寧可決斷不給弟兄放下碰腳石或絆跌物。

弟兄們，那些造成分立和絆跌事、背乎你們所學之教訓的人、我勸你們要注意提防他們。你們務要躲避他們；

所以食物若叫我的弟兄絆跌，我就永遠絕不喫肉，免得使我的弟兄絆跌。

你可別因食物的緣故來拆毁上帝所造的人了！凡物都是潔淨的；但若有人喫東西而帶着碰倒人的事，這在那人就是惡的了。不喫肉，不喝酒，不在任何事上叫你的弟兄碰倒、才是好的。

耶穌轉過身來，對彼得說：『撒但退去！你是我的障礙；因為你不意念着上帝的事，卻意念着人的事。』

不拘對猶太人、對希利尼人、或對上帝的教會、你們都要不碰倒人才對；

因了得權柄而在獸面前能行神迹、牠就迷惑住在地上的人，告訴住在地上的人要為那受刀擊傷還活着的獸造像。牠得了權柄、可以將生氣給獸的像，叫獸的像不但能說話，也能叫所有不拜獸像的人都被殺害。牠叫眾人、小的大的、富的窮的、自主的為奴的，都要給自己弄個印記、或在右手上、或在額上；叫人、除非有印記、有獸的名或獸名的數目的印記、就不能買，也不能賣。這裏就是需要智慧的地方。有心思的人可以計算這獸的數目；因為這是一個人名的數目：其數目是六百六十六。

不過我有一點要責備你的，就是你有執守巴蘭教訓的人在你那裏。這巴蘭教導了巴勒將絆跌物丟在以色列人面前，叫他們喫祭偶像之物並行邪淫、變節去拜偶像。

不過我有一件要責備你的，就是你容讓那婦人耶洗別；她說自己是神言人，又教導又迷惑我的僕人們去行邪淫、變節拜偶像、喫祭偶像之物。
