I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

I will get up and go back to my father. I will say to him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven. And I have sinned against you.

I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.

I will go home to my father and say,“ Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you,

I’ll get up, go to my father, and say to him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as[ his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward,[ saying], Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant[ that] shall not be forgotten.

For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin[ is] ever before me.Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done[ this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest,[ and] be clear when thou judgest.Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find[ them]: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then[ was it] better with me than now.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.

And if[ they be] bound in fetters,[ and] be holden in cords of affliction;Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and[ there] a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men[ that were] left. And Benhadad fled, and came into the city, into an inner chamber.And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel[ are] merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.

If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;And[ that] I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.Gracious[ is] the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God[ is] merciful.The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.

[ Yet] if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;And[ so] return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

Doubtless thou[ art] our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD,[ art] our father, our redeemer; thy name[ is] from everlasting.

For there shall be a day,[ that] the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth,[ and] with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim[ is] my firstborn.

Withhold not correction from the child: for[ if] thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

He looketh upon men, and[ if any] say, I have sinned, and perverted[ that which was] right, and it profited me not;He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.

And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine[ is] in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he[ was] God.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

His prayer also, and[ how God] was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they[ are] written among the sayings of the seers.

And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it[ is] great.

[ Is] Ephraim my dear son?[ is he] a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.

He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.My soul hath[ them] still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.[ It is of] the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive[ us] graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands,[ Ye are] our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

Who can tell[ if] God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
