Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said,“ It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

I delight to do Your will, my God; Your Law is within my heart.”

Jesus* said to them,“ My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.

As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the road He said to them,“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death,and they will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and flog and crucify, and on the third day He will be raised up.”Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him.And He said to her,“ What do you desire?” She* said to Him,“ Say that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine shall sit, one at Your right, and one at Your left.”But Jesus replied,“ You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They* said to Him,“ We are able.”

“ Now My soul has become troubled; and what am I to say?‘ Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven:“ I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

Now they were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him,saying,“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles.And they will mock Him and spit on Him, and flog Him and kill Him; and three days later He will rise from the dead.”James and John, the two sons of Zebedee,* came up to Jesus, saying to Him,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You.”And He said to them,“ What do you want Me to do for you?”They said to Him,“ Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory.”But Jesus said to them,“ You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?”

So Jesus* said to them,“ My time is not yet here, but your time is always ready.The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify about it, that its deeds are evil.Go up to the feast yourselves; I am not going up to this feast, because My time has not yet fully arrived.”

So Jesus said to Peter,“ Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given Me, am I not to drink it?”

But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as though in secret.

And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,

Therefore they were seeking again to arrest Him, and He eluded their grasp.And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was first baptizing, and He stayed there.Many came to Him and were saying,“ While John performed no sign, yet everything John said about this man was true.”
