“ Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning,

Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him.Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out.But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut.

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:

Even so let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world,

And righteousness shall be the girdle of his waist, and faithfulness the girdle of his loins.

She girdeth her loins with strength, And maketh strong her arms.

and the hand of Jehovah was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
