He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

The LORD executes judgment to the ends of the earth. He will strengthen his king and exalt the power of his anointed one.”

Look, the sovereign LORD comes as a victorious warrior; his military power establishes his rule. Look, his reward is with him; his prize goes before him.

The enemy said,‘ I will chase, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire will be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.’But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.Who is like you, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like you?– majestic in holiness, fearful in praises, working wonders?You stretched out your right hand, the earth swallowed them.By your loyal love you will lead the people whom you have redeemed; you will guide them by your strength to your holy dwelling place.

The LORD frustrates the decisions of the nations; he nullifies the plans of the peoples.

Your right hand, O LORD, was majestic in power, your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy.In the abundance of your majesty you have overthrown those who rise up against you. You sent forth your wrath; it consumed them like stubble.

But when the sovereign master finishes judging Mount Zion and Jerusalem, then I will punish the king of Assyria for what he has proudly planned and for the arrogant attitude he displays.For he says:“ By my strong hand I have accomplished this, by my strategy that I devised. I invaded the territory of nations, and looted their storehouses. As if a scepter should brandish the one who raises it, or a staff should lift up what is not made of wood!For this reason the sovereign master, the LORD who commands armies, will make his healthy ones emaciated. His majestic glory will go up in smoke.The light of Israel will become a fire, their Holy One will become a flame; it will burn and consume the Assyrian king’s briers and his thorns in one day.The splendor of his forest and his orchard will be completely destroyed, as when a sick man’s life ebbs away.There will be so few trees left in his forest, a child will be able to count them.

Your arm is powerful, your hand strong, your right hand victorious.

Why do the nations rebel? Why are the countries devising plots that will fail?The kings of the earth form a united front; the rulers collaborate against the LORD and his anointed king.They say,“ Let’s tear off the shackles they’ve put on us! Let’s free ourselves from their ropes!”The one enthroned in heaven laughs in disgust; the Lord taunts them.Then he angrily speaks to them and terrifies them in his rage, saying,“ I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy hill.”

I have heard how proud the people of Moab are, I know how haughty they are. I have heard how arrogant, proud, and haughty they are, what a high opinion they have of themselves.I, the LORD, affirm that I know how arrogant they are. But their pride is ill-founded. Their boastings will prove to be false.

Do you have an arm as powerful as God’s, and can you thunder with a voice like his?Adorn yourself, then, with majesty and excellency, and clothe yourself with glory and honor!Scatter abroad the abundance of your anger. As if with choice meat you satisfy my soul. My mouth joyfully praises you,

Or has God ever before tried to deliver a nation from the middle of another nation, accompanied by judgments, signs, wonders, war, strength, power, and other very terrifying things like the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?
