He has brought down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up those of lowly position;

王侯遭傾覆、卑賤升高位；

He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.

He has brought down rulers from their thrones. But he has lifted up people who are not considered important.

he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;

He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble.

he has toppled the mighty from their thrones and exalted the lowly.

Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.

he sets the lowly on high, that those who mourn are raised to safety.He frustrates the plans of the crafty so that their hands cannot accomplish what they had planned!He catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the counsel of the cunning is brought to a quick end.

I tell you that this man went down to his home justified rather than the Pharisee. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

He bends down to look at the sky and the earth.He raises the poor from the dirt, and lifts up the needy from the garbage pile,that he might seat him with princes, with the princes of his people.

The LORD both kills and gives life; he brings down to the grave and raises up.The LORD impoverishes and makes wealthy; he humbles and he exalts.He lifts the weak from the dust; he raises the poor from the ash heap to seat them with princes and to bestow on them an honored position. The foundations of the earth belong to the LORD, and he has placed the world on them.

For he came out of prison to become king, even though he had been born poor in what would become his kingdom.

He shatters the great without inquiry, and sets up others in their place.Therefore, he knows their deeds, he overthrows them in the night and they are crushed.He strikes them for their wickedness, in a place where people can see,because they have turned away from following him, and have not understood any of his ways,so that they caused the cry of the poor to come before him, so that he hears the cry of the needy.

Now the believer of humble means should take pride in his high position.But the rich person’s pride should be in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a wildflower in the meadow.

The bows of warriors are shattered, but those who stumble find their strength reinforced.
