“‘ Do not go about spreading slander among your people.“‘ Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the Lord.

“‘ Do not go around spreading lies among your people.“‘ Do not do anything that puts your neighbor’s life in danger. I am the Lord.

You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.

“ Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people.“ Do not stand idly by when your neighbor’s life is threatened. I am the Lord.

Do not go about spreading slander among your people; do not jeopardize your neighbor’s life; I am the LORD.

The wicked fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king!” Then they carried him out of the city and stoned him to death with stones.

he who doesn’t slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor casts slurs against his fellow man;

One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.

They are all grievous rebels, going around to slander. They are bronze and iron. All of them deal corruptly.

“ Everyone beware of his neighbor, and don’t trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.

Then they secretly induced men to say,“ We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and came against him and seized him, then brought him in to the council,and set up false witnesses who said,“ This man never stops speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the law.

“ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,

and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward,and said,“ This man said,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’”

But that I don’t delay you, I entreat you to bear with us and hear a few words.For we have found this man to be a plague, an instigator of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.He even tried to profane the temple, and we arrested him.

without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self- control, fierce, not lovers of good,

Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, and faithful in all things.

saying,“ I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood.” But they said,“ What is that to us? You see to it.”
