“‘ Do not go about spreading slander among your people.“‘ Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the Lord.

“‘ Do not go around spreading lies among your people.“‘ Do not do anything that puts your neighbor’s life in danger. I am the Lord.

You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.

“ Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people.“ Do not stand idly by when your neighbor’s life is threatened. I am the Lord.

Do not go about spreading slander among your people; do not jeopardize your neighbor’s life; I am the LORD.

You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people; and you are not to jeopardize the life of your neighbor. I am the Lord.

You shall not go about as a talebearer among your people; nor shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.

Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor: I am Jehovah.

不可诬告别人，不可杀害正直无辜的人，因为我必惩罚作恶之人。

在你这城中，有人好诽谤、杀人流血，有人在山上吃祭物，有人淫乱，

嚼舌的人泄露秘密，不可结交多嘴的人。

叫两个无赖坐在他对面控告他咒诅上帝和君王，然后把他拉出去用石头打死。”与拿伯同居一城的长老和贵族接到来信，便依照信里的指示行事。他们宣告禁食，让拿伯在百姓中坐首位，又叫两名无赖当众作证指控拿伯咒诅上帝和君王。然后众人把拿伯拖出城外，用石头打死了他。

他不说毁谤的话，不恶待邻人，不造谣生事。

嚼舌者泄露秘密，忠信者守口如瓶。

他们顽固不化，如铜如铁，四处毁谤，极其败坏。

你们要提防邻居，不要信赖弟兄，因为弟兄诡计多端，邻居满口是非。

于是，他们暗中唆使一些人诬告司提凡说：“我们听见他说亵渎摩西和上帝的话！”又煽动百姓、长老和律法教师抓住司提凡，把他押到公会。他们还派人作伪证说：“司提凡常常讲侮辱圣地和律法的话。

“不可作伪证陷害人。

因此，你们既然已经除去一切恶毒、欺诈、虚伪、嫉妒和毁谤，

虽然有很多假证人诬告祂，但都找不到真凭实据。最后有两个人上前高声说：“这个人曾经说过，‘我能拆毁圣殿，三天内把它重建起来。’”

我不敢耽误大人太久，只求大人容我们简单叙述。我们发现这个人惹事生非，到处煽动犹太人闹事。他是拿撒勒教派的一个头目，企图玷污圣殿，被我们抓住了。我们想按照犹太律法处置他，不料吕西亚千夫长却硬把他从我们手中抢走，并命令告他的人到大人这里来。大人亲自审问他，就会知道我们告他的事了。”在场的犹太人也随声附和，表示这些事属实。

冷漠无情、不愿和解、好说谗言、毫无节制、蛮横凶暴、不爱良善、

执事的妻子也要品行端正，不搬弄是非，为人节制，做事忠心。

“我出卖了清白无辜的人，我犯罪了！”他们说：“那是你自己的事，跟我们有什么关系？”

劝年长的妇女要过敬虔的生活，不说长道短，不做酒的奴隶，要以身作则。
