野狗尚且用乳房哺養牠們的幼兒；但我的眾民變得多麼殘忍，像曠野的鴕鳥一樣。

野狗尚且把奶乳哺其子，我民的妇人倒成为残忍，好像旷野的鸵鸟一般。

野狗尚且哺乳其子，我百姓的妇人反倒残忍，如旷野的鸵鸟一般；

豺狼尚且哺养自己的幼儿，我的子民却像荒野的鸵鸟一样残忍无情。

Even jackals offer their breasts to nurse their young, but my people have become heartless like ostriches in the desert.

Even wild dogs nurse their young pups. But my people are as mean as ostriches in the desert.

因此，在你中間，父親要吃兒子，兒子要吃父親。我要向你施行審判，把你餘剩的眾人分散到四方去。

在他們被圍困和受壓迫之中，就是在仇敵和尋索他們性命的人壓迫他們的時候，我必使他們吞吃自己的兒女的肉，各人也彼此吃對方的肉。’

鴕鳥的翅膀欣然鼓動，但牠的翎毛和羽毛哪有慈愛呢？牠把蛋都留在地上，使它們在土裡得溫暖，牠卻忘記了人的腳可以把蛋踩碎，野地的走獸會把蛋踐踏。牠苛待幼雛，看牠們好像不是自己生的，就算牠的勞苦白費了，也漠不關心，

慈心的婦人親手烹煮自己所生的孩子；在我眾民（“我眾民”原文作“我子民的女子”）遭毀滅的時候，孩子竟成了母親的食物。

他們必把你圍困在你的各城裡，直到在你的全境內你所倚靠高大和堅固的城牆都被攻陷；他們必把你圍困在耶和華你的神賜給你的全地的各城裡。你在仇敵圍困和窘迫你的時候，要吃你身所生的，就是吃耶和華你的神賜給你的兒女的肉。你們中間溫柔嫩弱的男人，必敵視自己的兄弟、懷中的妻子和餘剩的兒女；甚至在你的仇敵圍困和窘迫你在各城裡的時候，他要吃自己兒女的肉，卻不肯分給他們任何人，因為他沒有甚麼剩下的。你們中間溫柔嬌嫩的婦人，素來因為溫柔嬌嫩不肯把腳掌踏在地上，現在必敵視自己懷中的丈夫和自己的兒女。她暗中把自己兩腿之間出來的胞衣，和自己生的兒女吃掉，因為在你的仇敵圍困和窘迫你在各城裡的時候，她甚麼都沒有了。

“耶和華啊，求你觀看！求你鑒察！你曾這樣對待過誰呢？難道婦人應該吃掉自己所生的，就是自己所撫養的嬰孩嗎？難道祭司和先知應該在主的聖所裡被殺害嗎？”

你們要吃自己兒子的肉，女兒的肉也要吃。

耶穌轉過身來對她們說：“耶路撒冷的女兒啊，不要為我哭，卻要為你們自己和你們的兒女哭。日子將到，人必說：‘不生育的和沒有懷過胎的，也沒有哺養過嬰兒的有福了。’

冥頑不靈的、不守信用的、冷酷無情的、沒有惻隱之心的。

以色列王在城牆上經過時，有一個婦人向他呼求說：“我主我王啊，救救我！”他說：“如果耶和華不救你，我又從哪裡救你？是從打穀場，或是從榨酒池呢？”王對她說：“到底有甚麼事呢？”她說：“這婦人對我說：‘把你的兒子交出來，今日我們好把他吃了；明天我們可以吃我的兒子。’於是我們把我的兒子煮了，把他吃了。第二日，我對她說：‘把你的兒子交出來，我們好把他吃了。’她卻把她的兒子收藏起來。”

婦人怎能忘記她吃奶的嬰孩，不憐憫她親生的兒子呢？即使她們可能忘記，我也不會忘記你。
