But the Israelites were unfaithful in regard to the devoted things; Achan son of Karmi, the son of Zimri, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of them. So the Lord’s anger burned against Israel.

But the Israelites weren’t faithful to the Lord. They didn’t destroy what had been set apart to him. So they did not do what they had been told to do. Achan had taken some of those things. So the Lord became very angry with Israel. Achan was the son of Karmi. Karmi was the son of Zimri. And Zimri was the son of Zerah. Achan and all his relatives were from the tribe of Judah.

But the people of Israel broke faith in regard to the devoted things, for Achan the son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of the devoted things. And the anger of the Lord burned against the people of Israel.

But Israel violated the instructions about the things set apart for the Lord. A man named Achan had stolen some of these dedicated things, so the Lord was very angry with the Israelites. Achan was the son of Carmi, a descendant of Zimri son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah.

The Israelites, however, were unfaithful regarding the things set apart for destruction. Achan son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of what was set apart, and the LORD’s anger burned against the Israelites.

昔謝拉裔亞干、豈非於當滅之物干罪、致怒及於以色列會眾乎、是其人之罪、不獨亡一人也、○

謝拉子、心利、以探、希幔、甲各、大拉、共五人、迦米子亞干、即因當滅之物、困苦以色列族者、

城暨所有、必歸耶和華以滅之、惟妓喇合、及其全家、可俾生存、以其曾匿我儕所遣之使也、當滅之物、爾宜慎而遠之、免取當滅之物、使以色列營服詛而遭禍、

上帝不悅此事、遂擊以色列人、

亞干對曰、我誠獲罪於以色列之上帝耶和華、所行如是、我於所奪之物中、見有示拿之美衣、及銀二百舍客勒、金鋌五十舍客勒、則貪而取之、今在我幕、匿於地中、銀在其下、

耶和華會眾云、爾今轉離、不從耶和華、干犯以色列之上帝、為己築壇、悖逆耶和華、此何罪耶、

慎之哉、恐有失上帝恩者、恐有苦根發萌以擾爾、致眾玷污、恐有淫亂者、或輕侮如以掃者、為一餔啜、而鬻長子之分、

曰、我上帝歟、予抱愧赧顏、不敢向我上帝仰面、蓋我儕愆尤滅頂、罪戾滔天、

爾今又欲轉離、不從耶和華乎、今日悖逆耶和華、明日彼必怒以色列會眾、

耶和華復怒以色列人、遂感大衛、命人往核以色列猶大二族、

眾相語曰、其來、我儕掣籤、俾知我遭此禍、伊誰之故、遂掣籤而得約拿、

遂棄其列祖之上帝耶和華室、奉事亞舍拉及偶像、緣此罪戾、震怒及於猶大與耶路撒冷、

智慧愈於戰具、僅一罪人、能敗諸善、

聞爾中淫亂、有烝其父之繼室者、雖異邦亦未之有也、爾猶自矜、而不哀傷、使行此者見擯於爾中、我身違而心在、如我偕爾而擬犯此者矣、爾與我心會集、以我主耶穌之能、而奉其名、付若人於撒但、以滅其形軀、使其靈得救於主耶穌之日、爾之誇非善也、豈不知些須之酵、發全團乎、

主歟、惟爾為義、我則蒙羞、有如今日、猶大人、耶路撒冷居民、及以色列眾、因其獲罪於爾、或遠或近、被驅至於諸國、
