The wicked are those who rebel against the light. They do not recognize its ways or stay on its paths.

“又有人背弃光明，不认识光明的道，不住在光明的路上。

“有人与光明为敌，不认识光明之道，也不走光明之路。

又有人与光为敌，不认识光明的道，不留在光明的路中。

These are of them that rebel against the light; They know not the ways thereof, Nor abide in the paths thereof.

This is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil.For everyone who does evil hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed.

and with every wicked deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth and so be saved.For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe the lie,so that all will be condemned— those who did not believe the truth but delighted in unrighteousness.

and the angels who did not keep their own position but abandoned their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains in deep darkness for the judgment on the great day.

They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. However, they went out so that it might be made clear that none of them belongs to us.

But the way of the wicked is like the darkest gloom; they don’t know what makes them stumble.

Now if you call yourself a Jew, and rely on the law, and boast in God,and know his will, and approve the things that are superior, being instructed from the law,and if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light to those in darkness,an instructor of the ignorant, a teacher of the immature, having the embodiment of knowledge and truth in the law—you then, who teach another, don’t you teach yourself? You who preach,“ You must not steal”— do you steal?You who say,“ You must not commit adultery”— do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?For, as it is written: The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.

And that servant who knew his master’s will and didn’t prepare himself or do it will be severely beaten.But the one who did not know and did what deserved punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be expected.

There is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.All have turned away; all alike have become worthless. There is no one who does what is good, not even one.Their throat is an open grave; they deceive with their tongues. Vipers’ venom is under their lips.Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.Their feet are swift to shed blood;ruin and wretchedness are in their paths,and the path of peace they have not known.

So it is sin to know the good and yet not do it.

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now they have no excuse for their sin.The one who hates me also hates my Father.If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not be guilty of sin. Now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.

He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they would not see with their eyes or understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.

If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things and asked him,“ We aren’t blind too, are we?”“ If you were blind,” Jesus told them,“ you wouldn’t have sin. But now that you say,‘ We see,’ your sin remains.

For if, having escaped the world’s impurity through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in these things and defeated, the last state is worse for them than the first.For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy command delivered to them.It has happened to them according to the true proverb: A dog returns to its own vomit, and,“ A washed sow returns to wallowing in the mud.”

Jesus answered,“ The light will be with you only a little longer. Walk while you have the light so that darkness doesn’t overtake you. The one who walks in darkness doesn’t know where he’s going.

My feet have followed in his tracks; I have kept to his way and not turned aside.I have not departed from the commands from his lips; I have treasured the words from his mouth more than my daily food.

Although they know God’s just sentence— that those who practice such things deserve to die— they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.

Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him,“ If you continue in my word, you really are my disciples.

You are of your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
