Why doesn’t anyone bother the tents of robbers? Why do those who make God angry remain secure? They are in God’s hands!

The tents of robbers are at peace, and those who provoke God are secure, who bring their god in their hand.

But robbers are left in peace, and those who provoke God live in safety— though God keeps them in his power.

The tents of robbers are safe, and those who trouble God are secure; God holds them in his hands.

The tents of the destroyers prosper, And those who provoke God are secure, Whom God brings into their power.

When a land falls into the hands of the wicked, he blindfolds its judges. If it is not he, then who is it?

They say,“ How would God know? Does the Most High know anything?”This is what the wicked are like— always free of care, they go on amassing wealth.

Why do the wicked live on, growing old and increasing in power?They see their children established around them, their offspring before their eyes.Their homes are safe and free from fear; the rod of God is not on them.Their bulls never fail to breed; their cows calve and do not miscarry.They send forth their children as a flock; their little ones dance about.They sing to the music of timbrel and lyre; they make merry to the sound of the pipe.They spend their years in prosperity and go down to the grave in peace.Yet they say to God,‘ Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways.Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain by praying to him?’

I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a luxuriant native tree,

Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;

By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.

Like cages full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; they have become rich and powerful

Yet it was he who filled their houses with good things, so I stand aloof from the plans of the wicked.
