人遭患難、步足將躓蹶、為安居者所藐視、或作人備火炬以免躓蹶安居之人則棄之

People who have an easy life look down on those who have problems. They think trouble comes only to those whose feet are slipping.

In the thought of one who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune; it is ready for those whose feet slip.

People who are at ease mock those in trouble. They give a push to people who are stumbling.

The one who is at ease holds calamity in contempt and thinks it is prepared for those whose feet are slipping.

He who is at ease holds disaster in contempt, As prepared for those whose feet slip.

A lamp is despised in the thought of one who is at ease; It is made ready for those whose feet slip.

In the thought of him that is at ease there is contempt for misfortune; It is ready for them whose foot slippeth.

Are they better off than your two kingdoms? Is their land larger than yours?You put off the day of disaster and bring near a reign of terror.You lie on beds adorned with ivory and lounge on your couches. You dine on choice lambs and fattened calves.You strum away on your harps like David and improvise on musical instruments.You drink wine by the bowlful and use the finest lotions, but you do not grieve over the ruin of Joseph.

If someone curses their father or mother, their lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness.

The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.

Give glory to the Lord your God before he brings the darkness, before your feet stumble on the darkening hills. You hope for light, but he will turn it to utter darkness and change it to deep gloom.
