Well, I know a few things myself— and you’re no better than I am. Who doesn’t know these things you’ve been saying?

然我亦有聰明、不亞於爾、所言之事、誰不知之、

我之慧心、與爾何異、爾無能過我、爾所言者、誰不知之。

我亦有才思、才思或作慧心與爾無異、並非不及爾、誰不知爾之所知、誰不知爾之所知或作爾所言者誰不知之

But I have a mind as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know all these things?

But I have a brain, just like you. I’m as clever as you are. In fact, everyone knows as much as you do.

But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know such things as these?

But I also have a mind like you; I am not inferior to you. Who doesn’t know the things you are talking about?

But I have intelligence as well as you; I am not inferior to you. And who does not know such things as these?

I know as much as you do. You are no better than I am.As for me, I would speak directly to the Almighty. I want to argue my case with God himself.As for you, you smear me with lies. As physicians, you are worthless quacks.If only you could be silent! That’s the wisest thing you could do.

Don’t people complain about unsalted food? Does anyone want the tasteless white of an egg?My appetite disappears when I look at it; I gag at the thought of eating it!

Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are.

“ How you have helped the powerless! How you have saved the weak!How you have enlightened my stupidity! What wise advice you have offered!

I’m ashamed to say that we’ve been too“ weak” to do that! But whatever they dare to boast about— I’m talking like a fool again— I dare to boast about it, too.Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I.Are they servants of Christ? I know I sound like a madman, but I have served him far more! I have worked harder, been put in prison more often, been whipped times without number, and faced death again and again.

But I don’t consider myself inferior in any way to these“ super apostles” who teach such things.
