耶稣听了就说：“这病不至于死，而是为了神的荣耀，好使神的儿子由此得荣耀。”

官长们又威吓他们一番，为了民众的缘故把他们释放了。官长们找不出任何理由来惩罚他们，因为众人都为所发生的事不住地荣耀神。

就是：瞎眼的得以看见，瘸腿的行走，麻风病人被洁净，耳聋的听见，死人得以复活，穷人得以听到福音。

耶稣回答他们，说：“你们以为这些加利利人如此受害，是因为他们比其他所有加利利人更有罪吗？不是的。我告诉你们：你们如果不悔改，都会同样地灭亡。或者，西罗亚楼倒塌压死的那十八个人，你们以为他们比所有住在耶路撒冷的人更有罪吗？不是的。我告诉你们：你们如果不悔改，都会同样灭亡。”

那些土人一看见那毒蛇悬在他的手上，就彼此说：“这个人一定是个杀人犯！虽然从海里获救了，但天理还是不让他活着。”

因此我把这一切放在心上，为要察验这些事：义人、智慧人和他们所做的都在神的手中；那将临到他们的一切，无论是爱是恨，没有人知道。每个人的命运都是一样的：义人与恶人，好人与坏人，洁净的与不洁净的，献祭的与不献祭的都有一样的命运。好人怎样，罪人也怎样；起誓的怎样，怕起誓的也怎样。

你们当相信我：我在父里面，父也在我里面。即使不信，也当因我所做的事而相信。“我确确实实地告诉你们：我所做的事，信我的人也要做，而且要做比这些更大的事。这是因为我就要到父那里去了。你们奉我的名无论求什么，我将行这事，好使父藉着子得荣耀。

耶稣对她说：“我不是对你说过，你如果信，就会看见神的荣耀吗？”
