他們問：「你到底是誰？」耶穌回答說：「我不是早就告訴你們了嗎？

他们就问他说：“你是谁？”耶稣对他们说：“就是我从起初所告诉你们的。

他们就问他：“你到底是谁？”耶稣对他们说：“我从起初就告诉你们了。

他们就问他：“你到底是谁？”耶稣对他们说：“我从起初就告诉你们了。

他们问：“你到底是谁？”耶稣回答说：“我不是早就告诉你们了吗？

他们就问：“你是谁？”耶稣说：“我不是从起初就告诉你们吗？

他们问：“你到底是谁？”耶稣说：“我从一开始就告诉你们了。

他們就問他說：「你是誰？」耶穌對他們說：「就是我從起初所告訴你們的。

他們就問他：「你到底是誰？」耶穌對他們說：「我從起初就告訴你們了。

他們就問他：「你到底是誰？」耶穌對他們說：「我從起初就告訴你們了。

他們就問：“你是誰？”耶穌說：“我不是從起初就告訴你們嗎？

於是他們問耶穌說：『你、是誰？』耶穌對他們說：『總而言之，就是我同你們所講論的。

他們問：「你到底是誰？」耶穌說：「我從一開始就告訴你們了。

眾曰、爾為誰、曰、即自始所言於爾者、

眾曰、爾為誰、耶穌曰、我昔言之矣、

眾曰、爾為誰、耶穌曰、即我自始所告爾者、

眾問曰：『爾果誰歟？』耶穌曰：『予乃無始之始、而今為爾說道者是！

“ Who are you?” they asked.“ Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied.

“ Who are you?” they asked.“ Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied.

So they said to him,“ Who are you?” Jesus said to them,“ Just what I have been telling you from the beginning.

“ Who are you?” they demanded. Jesus replied,“ The one I have always claimed to be.

“ Who are you?” they questioned.“ Exactly what I’ve been telling you from the very beginning,” Jesus told them.

Then they were saying to Him,“ Who are You?” Jesus said to them,“ What have I even been saying to you from the beginning?

Then they said to Him,“ Who are You?” And Jesus said to them,“ Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

They said therefore unto him, Who art thou? Jesus said unto them, Even that which I have also spoken unto you from the beginning.

“ Who are You?” they questioned.“ Precisely what I’ve been telling you from the very beginning,” Jesus told them.

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even[ the same] that I said unto you from the beginning.

So they said to him,“ Who are you?” Jesus replied,“ What I have told you from the beginning.

They said therefore to him,“ Who are you?” Jesus said to them,“ Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

以下是約翰的見證。猶太人從耶路撒冷派祭司和利未人來找約翰，查問他是誰。

他們又追問：「你到底是誰？我們好回覆差我們來的人。你自己說你是誰？」

連忙將耶穌帶回總督府，問祂：「你到底是從哪裡來的？」但耶穌沒有回答。

一群猶太人圍著祂說：「你讓我們困惑、猜疑要到什麼時候呢？如果你是救主基督，就清楚地告訴我們吧！」

對祂說：「如果你是基督，就告訴我們。」耶穌說：「即使我告訴你們，你們也不會相信。

耶穌又對眾人說：「我是世界的光，凡跟從我的，必不會走在黑暗裡，必要得到生命的光。」

耶穌對他們說：「我父一直在工作，我也一直在工作。」猶太人聽了，更想殺祂，因祂不但違犯了安息日的規矩，還稱上帝為父，把自己看作與上帝平等。耶穌說：「我實實在在地告訴你們，子憑自己什麼都不能做，唯有看見父做什麼，子才做什麼。無論父做什麼，子也照樣做。父因為愛子，便把自己的一切作為給祂看，而且還要把比這些更大的作為給祂看，叫你們驚奇。父如何使死人復活、賜生命給他們，子也照樣想賜生命給誰，就賜給誰。父不審判人，祂將審判的事全交給子，叫人尊敬子如同尊敬父。不尊敬子的，就是不尊敬差子來的父。「我實實在在地告訴你們，誰聽從我的話，又信差我來的那位，誰就有永生，不被定罪，已經出死入生了。我實實在在地告訴你們，時候快到了，現在就是，死人將聽見上帝兒子的聲音，聽見的將存活。因為正如父自己是生命的源頭，祂也同樣讓子作生命的源頭，又把審判的權柄交給祂，因為祂是人子。你們不要因此而驚奇，時候一到，一切在墳墓裡的死人都要聽見上帝兒子的聲音，他們都要從墳墓裡出來。行善的人復活後得永生，作惡的人復活後被定罪。」
