第三天，在加利利的迦拿有一個婚宴。耶穌的母親在那裡，耶穌和他的門徒們也被邀請赴宴。酒用盡了，耶穌的母親對他說：「他們沒有酒了。」耶穌對她說：「母親，這與你我有什麼關係？我的時候還沒有到。」他的母親對僕人們說：「他吩咐你們什麼，你們就做什麼。」照猶太人潔淨的規矩，有六口石缸擺在那裡。每缸可容兩三桶水。耶穌對僕人們說：「把這些缸裝滿水。」他們就裝滿了，直到缸沿。耶穌又對他們說：「現在舀出來，送去給管宴席的。」他們就送去了。當管宴席的嘗了那水變的酒，並不知道這是從哪裡來的，只有舀水的那些僕人知道。管宴席的就叫來新郎，對他說：「人人都是先擺上好酒，等賓客喝醉了，才擺上次等的。你卻把好酒留到現在！」耶穌在加利利的迦拿行了這頭一件神蹟，顯明了他的榮耀，他的門徒們就信了他。

他殺他們的時候，他們才尋求他，回轉過來，切切尋求神。

在患難的日子裡，你當呼求我，我必搭救你，而你將榮耀我。」

他們來到眾人那裡，有一個人來到耶穌面前，跪下來，說：「主啊，可憐我的兒子吧！他患了癲癇病，十分痛苦，經常跌進火裡，也經常跌進水裡。

因為他有一個約十二歲的獨生女兒，快要死了。耶穌去的時候，人群擁擠著他。

耶穌正對他們講這些事的時候，忽然有一個會堂主管來拜他，說：「我的女兒剛才死了，求你來按手在她身上，她就會活了。」

當時，西門彼得、那叫迪杜馬的多馬、加利利的迦拿人拿旦業、西庇太的兩個兒子、還有他的另外兩位門徒，正在一起。

這時候，忽然來了一個住在那地區的迦南婦人，她呼叫說：「主啊，大衛的後裔，可憐我吧！我的女兒有鬼魔附身，痛苦萬分。」

有個百夫長所重視的奴僕病得快要死了。
