Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull( which in Aramaic is called Golgotha).

既抵髑髏地、乃以耶穌釘之十字架、繼釘二犯、一居右、一居左、

眾方曳耶穌出、有古利奈人西門者來自田間、眾執之、使負十字架於耶穌後、

凡不負其十字架、以從予者、亦不得為吾徒。

推之出城、以石擊之；為證者置其衣於一少年之足前、少年者掃羅也。

正如若輩行贖罪祭時、大司祭將牲牷之血、攜入聖所、而以牲牷之身、焚於營外；故耶穌亦自殉於邑門之外、俾以其血聖化萬民。因此亦宜出而就之於營外、而與之共受垢辱。

更謂眾及門徒曰：『人欲從予、必先舍己、負其十字架而隨我後。

置標於其釘之上端、上書：「斯為猶太人之王。」

乃諭諸徒曰：『人欲從予、必須克己、負其十字架、而追隨予後。

不負其十字架、而追踵於我者、非吾徒也。

適有西肋吶人西門、亞立山羅富之父也。來自田間、經此、兵士強之同行、使負耶穌架。眾引耶穌至一地、名各爾各大、譯言髑髏地；以酒和沒藥飲之、弗受。

復懸標其上、書曰：「是為猶太人之王。」

耶穌顧而悅之。又謂之曰：『爾尚缺一端、宜罄售爾之所有、施諸貧人、積寶于天、來從我遊。』

架上懸榜曰：「猶太人之王」。

耶穌諭眾曰：『人欲從予、務宜克己、日負其十字架、而隨予後。

佯禮畢、褫其袍、為易原服、引之出、將上十字架。方出、遇有西勒吶人名西門者、兵士強之使負耶穌之架。既至各爾各大、即所謂「髑髏地」者、兵士取膽汁和酒以進、耶穌嘗而不飲。

基督義塞王！盍自架上降來、俾吾儕亦得見而信之乎？』即同釘之盜、亦冷笑之。
