When Pilate heard this, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judge’s seat at a place known as the Stone Pavement( which in Aramaic is Gabbatha).

他們沒有知識，也不明白，在黑暗中走來走去；大地的一切根基都搖動了。我曾說過：“你們都是神，是至高者的兒子。然而，你們要像世人一樣死亡，像世上任何一位領袖一樣倒斃。”

懼怕人的，必陷入網羅；倚靠耶和華的，必得安全。

“我曾在收割前三個月，不降雨給你們；我降雨給一個城，在另一個城卻不降雨；我在一塊地降雨，另一塊地沒有雨水就枯乾了。

在耶路撒冷靠近羊門有一個水池，希伯來話叫作畢士大，池邊有五條走廊。

彼得和約翰回答：“聽從你們過於聽從神，在神面前對不對，你們自己說吧！

我要指示你們當怕的是誰：當怕那殺身體以後，有權把人投入地獄裡的；我告訴你們，應當怕他。

“我，我耶和華是安慰你們的；你是誰，竟怕那會死的人，怕那被造如草的世人呢？你忘記了造你的耶和華，就是那展開諸天，奠定大地的根基的；又因那欺壓者準備行毀滅的時候所發的烈怒，你就終日不住懼怕呢？其實那欺壓者的烈怒在哪裡呢？

你怕誰？你因誰而懼怕，以致你對我說謊呢？你不記念我，也不把我放在心上，是不是因為我長久緘默，你就不懼怕我呢？

掌權者啊！你們真的講公義嗎（本句或譯：“你們默然不語，真的講公義嗎”）？你們真的按照正直審判世人嗎？不是的，你們心中策劃奸惡；你們的手在地上施行強暴（本句原文作“你們在地上稱出你們手中的強暴”）。

彼拉多聽見這話，就更加害怕，

憑著律例製造奸惡，藉著權位行毀滅的，怎能和你相交呢？他們集結起來攻擊義人，把無辜的人定了死罪。

如果你在一省之中，看到窮人遭受欺壓，公正和公義被奪去，也不必因此驚訝，因為高位者之上有較高的照應，在他們之上還有更高的。
