“ Now My soul has become troubled; and what am I to say?‘ Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.

Just as the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; remain in My love.

Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,“ You have not desired sacrifice and offering, But You have prepared a body for Me;You have not taken pleasure in whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin.Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come( It is written of Me in the scroll of the book) To do Your will, O God.’ ”After saying above,“ Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them”( which are offered according to the Law),then He said,“ Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second.

I delight to do Your will, my God; Your Law is within my heart.”

So Jesus said to Peter,“ Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given Me, am I not to drink it?”

looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

When Jesus had spoken these words, He went away with His disciples across the ravine of the Kidron, where there was a garden which He entered with His disciples.Now Judas, who was betraying Him, also knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with His disciples.So Judas, having obtained the Roman cohort and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees,* came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, came out into the open and* said to them,“ Whom are you seeking?”

Get up, let’s go; behold, the one who is betraying Me is near!”
