坐著吃飯的和伺候的哪個地位高呢？難道不是坐著的那個嗎？然而，我在你們當中是服侍人的。

看啊！我站在門外敲門，若有誰聞聲開門，我必進去，我與他，他與我，一同坐席吃飯。

有許多猶太人知道耶穌在那裡，就來看祂，不單是為了看耶穌，也想看看從死裡復活的拉撒路。於是，祭司長計劃連拉撒路也殺掉，

耶穌在伯大尼村患過痲瘋病的西門家裡吃飯，有個女人帶了一瓶極貴重的純哪噠香膏進來，把玉瓶打破，將香膏倒在耶穌頭上。

耶穌和門徒去耶路撒冷的途中路過一個村莊，遇到一位名叫瑪大的女子接待他們到家裡作客。瑪大的妹妹瑪麗亞坐在耶穌腳前聽道，瑪大為了招待客人忙亂不已，於是上前對耶穌說：「主啊，我妹妹讓我一個人伺候大家，你都不管嗎？請你叫她來幫幫我吧。」耶穌對她說：「瑪大，瑪大，你為太多事情憂慮煩惱。其實最要緊的事只有一件，瑪麗亞選擇了上好的，是奪不走的。」

主人回來，看見奴僕警醒等候，奴僕就有福了！我實在告訴你們，主人必束上腰帶請他們坐席，並親自服侍他們。

說完，就大聲呼喊：「拉撒路，出來！」那死者就出來了，手腳都纏著布條，臉上也包著布。耶穌對他們說：「給他解開，讓他走！」

隨後，他在家設宴款待耶穌，赴宴的人中有許多稅吏和其他人。

耶穌又對主人說：「擺設午宴、晚宴時，不要邀請你的朋友、弟兄、親戚或有錢的鄰居，免得他們回請你，你便得到報答了。

當耶穌在伯大尼患過痲瘋病的西門家裡時，

北風啊，興起吧！南風啊，吹來吧！吹向我的園子，使它的清香四溢。願我的良人走進自己的園中，享受其中的珍果。我的妹妹，我的新娘啊，我已經來到自己的園中，採了我的沒藥和香料，品嚐了我的蜂房和蜂蜜，也享用了我的美酒和鮮奶。朋友們，盡情吃喝吧。相愛的人啊，沉醉在愛中吧！
