He went in alone and shut the door behind him and prayed to the Lord.Then he lay down on the child’s body, placing his mouth on the child’s mouth, his eyes on the child’s eyes, and his hands on the child’s hands. And as he stretched out on him, the child’s body began to grow warm again!Elisha got up, walked back and forth across the room once, and then stretched himself out again on the child. This time the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes!Then Elisha summoned Gehazi.“ Call the child’s mother!” he said. And when she came in, Elisha said,“ Here, take your son!”

And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the Lord,“ O Lord my God, please let this child’s life return to him.”The Lord heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived!

But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said,“ Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat up!

Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped.“ Young man,” he said,“ I tell you, get up.”Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.

Peter said to him,“ Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you! Get up, and roll up your sleeping mat!” And he was healed instantly.

Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd.“ People of Israel,” he said,“ what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness?

The disciples were absolutely terrified.“ Who is this man?” they asked each other.“ Even the wind and waves obey him!”

But Peter said,“ I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”
