Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ The children of Israel were oppressed, Along with the children of Judah; All who took them captive have held them fast; They have refused to let them go.

萬有之主如是云、以色列人與猶大人、同受凌虐、擄之者強留之、不肯釋之、

This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ The people of Israel are oppressed, and the people of Judah as well. All their captors hold them fast, refusing to let them go.

The Lord who rules over all says,“ The people of Israel are being treated badly. So are the people of Judah. Those who have captured them are holding them. They refuse to let them go.

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts: The people of Israel are oppressed, and the people of Judah with them. All who took them captive have held them fast; they refuse to let them go.

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says:“ The people of Israel and Judah have been wronged. Their captors hold them and refuse to let them go.

This is what the LORD of Armies says: Israelites and Judeans alike have been oppressed. All their captors hold them fast; they refuse to release them.

This is what the Lord of armies says:“ The sons of Israel are oppressed, And the sons of Judah as well; And all who took them captive have held them firmly, They have refused to let them go.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together; and all that took them captive hold them fast; they refuse to let them go.

This is what the Lord of Hosts says: Israelites and Judeans alike have been oppressed. All their captors hold them fast; they refuse to release them.

Who made the world as a wilderness And destroyed its cities, Who did not open the house of his prisoners?’

“ Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?

I was angry with My people; I have profaned My inheritance, And given them into your hand. You showed them no mercy; On the elderly you laid your yoke very heavily.

Then you recently turned and did what was right in My sight— every man proclaiming liberty to his neighbor; and you made a covenant before Me in the house which is called by My name.Then you turned around and profaned My name, and every one of you brought back his male and female slaves, whom you had set at liberty, at their pleasure, and brought them back into subjection, to be your male and female slaves.’“ Therefore thus says the Lord:‘ You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and every one to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,’ says the Lord—‘ to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth.And I will give the men who have transgressed My covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before Me, when they cut the calf in two and passed between the parts of it—

I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; For I was a little angry, And they helped— but with evil intent.”‘ Therefore thus says the Lord:“ I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts,“ And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.”’

As yet you exalt yourself against My people in that you will not let them go.Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause very heavy hail to rain down, such as has not been in Egypt since its founding until now.

But if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all your territory with frogs.

All who found them have devoured them; And their adversaries said,‘ We have not offended, Because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, The Lord, the hope of their fathers.’

“ Israel is like scattered sheep; The lions have driven him away. First the king of Assyria devoured him; Now at last this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, As I have punished the king of Assyria.

“ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon Has devoured me, he has crushed me; He has made me an empty vessel, He has swallowed me up like a monster; He has filled his stomach with my delicacies, He has spit me out.Let the violence done to me and my flesh be upon Babylon,” The inhabitant of Zion will say;“ And my blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea!” Jerusalem will say.Therefore thus says the Lord:“ Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry.

But I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, Who have said to you,‘ Lie down, that we may walk over you.’ And you have laid your body like the ground, And as the street, for those who walk over.”

For thus says the Lord GOD:“ My people went down at first Into Egypt to dwell there; Then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.Now therefore, what have I here,” says the Lord,“ That My people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them Make them wail,” says the Lord,“ And My name is blasphemed continually every day.Therefore My people shall know My name; Therefore they shall know in that day That I am He who speaks:‘ Behold, it is I.’”

And Pharaoh said,“ Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go.”

For if you refuse to let them go, and still hold them,behold, the hand of the Lord will be on your cattle in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the oxen, and on the sheep— a very severe pestilence.

Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, Or the captives of the righteous be delivered?But thus says the Lord:“ Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, And the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, And I will save your children.I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, And they shall be drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine. All flesh shall know That I, the Lord, am your Savior, And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
