『那時馬蹄嘓嘓，因壯馬之急跑奔馳。

『從但那裏聽到敵人的馬的噴鼻氣，他們雄壯的馬的嘶鳴聲，全國盡都震動；因為他們來吞滅這地、和境內所有的，吞滅這城和其中的居民。

在城外、街上有戰車狂奔着，在空曠地方東跑西竄；其形狀如火把，其飛跑如閃電。

『馬的大力、是你賜的麼？牠脖子上挓挱的騌、是你給牠披上的麼？是你叫牠昂首躍躍像蝗蟲，有噴氣之威、使人恐驚麼？牠在山谷中刨地，自己高興；帶着能力出去迎接敵人的軍械。牠戲笑可怕的事，而不驚慌，也不因敵人的刀劍而退回。箭袋在牠身上、丁丁當當；矛和短槍閃閃爍爍。牠震顫激動，氣吞大地；聽見號角聲，就不耐煩站着。每有號角聲，牠總說：「呵哈！」牠從遠處就聞着戰氣，聽着軍長的雷聲和陣上的吶喊。

野狗尚且把奶頭給崽子喫奶，我的眾民倒殘忍，像曠野的鴕鳥一樣啊！喫奶孩子的舌頭因乾渴而貼住上膛；孩童求餅，無人擘給他們。

由於他馬匹之洶湧、他們揚起的飛塵都遮蔽了你；他進入你的城門、好像人進入已有裂口的城；那時你的牆就因馬兵的響聲、輥輥旋轉的輪子和車輛的響聲而震動。他的馬蹄必踐踏你所有的街道；你的人民他必用刀殺戮；你崇拜的堅固柱子必倒在地上。

啊，鞭子的噼啪聲！啊，車輪之轟轟響！駿馬踢跳飛跑！戰車顛簸跳動！軍馬騰躍着衝鋒；刀劍閃閃發光，槍矛爍爍發亮；被刺殺的眾多，屍首堆疊慘重；屍身任數不盡，人都跌在屍首堆上！

你中間柔弱而極嬌嫩的人必惡眉惡眼斜視着他弟兄、和他懷中的妻、跟他所剩下的兒女；甚至在你的仇敵窘迫你、而你在各城內被圍困被窘迫時、他所要喫的兒女的肉、他也不肯分一點給他的親人，因為他一無所剩。

馬匹上去吧！車輛狂奔吧！勇士出陣哦！手揮盾牌的古實人和弗人哪！拉弓的路德族啊！
