Fathers will hear the hoofbeats of the enemies’ horses, the clatter of their chariots and the rumbling of their wheels. They will not turn back to save their children because they will be paralyzed with fear.

蹄聲隆隆，駿馬疾馳！

「從但傳來敵人戰馬的嘶鳴，聲音震動大地。他們要來吞滅我們的土地和作物、城邑和居民。

戰車在街道上狂奔，在廣場上橫衝直撞，亮如火炬，疾似閃電。

「馬的力量豈是你賜的？牠頸上的鬃毛豈是你披的？豈是你使牠跳躍如蝗蟲，發出令人膽寒的長嘶？牠在谷中刨地，炫耀力量，奮力衝向敵軍。牠嘲笑恐懼，毫不害怕，不因刀劍而退縮。牠背上的箭袋錚錚作響，長矛和投槍閃閃發光。角聲一響，牠便無法靜立，狂烈地顫抖，急於馳騁大地。聽到角聲，牠就發出長嘶，牠老遠便嗅到戰爭的氣味，並聽見吶喊和將領的號令。

豺狼尚且哺養自己的幼兒，我的子民卻像荒野的鴕鳥一樣殘忍無情。嬰兒乾渴難忍，舌頭緊貼上膛；孩童乞求食物，卻無人給予。

他人馬眾多，揚起的塵土足以遮蓋你。他要攻破你的城池，進入你的城門，他的騎兵、軍需車和戰車要震動你的城牆。他戰馬的鐵蹄必踏遍你的街道。他必揮刀屠殺你的居民，推倒你堅固的神柱，

鞭聲啪啪，車輪隆隆，戰馬奔騰，戰車疾馳，騎士衝鋒，刀光閃閃，矛槍生輝；被殺者眾多，屍骨成堆，人們被遍地的屍體絆倒。

因為被敵人困在城中，饑餓難熬，連你們中間最溫柔體貼的男人也要獨自吞吃子女的肉，不肯分給自己的兄弟、愛妻和剩下的兒女。

戰馬奔馳吧！戰車疾駛吧！勇士啊，就是那些手拿盾牌的古實人和弗人以及箭法嫺熟的呂底亞人啊，出戰吧！
