This is what the Lord says:“ See how the waters are rising in the north; they will become an overflowing torrent. They will overflow the land and everything in it, the towns and those who live in them. The people will cry out; all who dwell in the land will wail

The Lord said,“ The armies of Babylon are like waters rising in the north. They will become a great flood. They will flow over the land and everything in it. They will flow over the towns and those who live in them. The people will cry out. All those who live in the land will weep.

“ Thus says the Lord: Behold, waters are rising out of the north, and shall become an overflowing torrent; they shall overflow the land and all that fills it, the city and those who dwell in it. Men shall cry out, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail.

This is what the Lord says:“ A flood is coming from the north to overflow the land. It will destroy the land and everything in it— cities and people alike. People will scream in terror, and everyone in the land will wail.

他們進入房子（“房子”或譯：“廟宇”），又往底本，上到高處去哭泣，摩押人為尼波和米底巴哀號；各人頭上都光禿，鬍鬚剃淨。他們在街上都腰束麻布；在房頂上，在廣場上，各人都哀號，流淚痛哭。希實本和以利亞利都呼喊，他們的聲音達到雅雜，因此摩押配帶武器的人大聲呼叫，各人的心都戰兢。我的心為摩押哀號，它的逃民一直去到瑣珥，如同一頭三歲大的牝牛，要掙脫苦軛，他們登上魯希的山坡，隨走隨哭，他們在何羅念的路上，發出滅亡的哀號。

耶和華對我說：“必有災禍從北方發出，臨到這地所有的居民。

願天歡喜，願地快樂；願海和海中充滿的，都翻騰響鬧；

哀號的聲音傳遍了摩押四境，哀聲直達以基蓮，又傳到比珥．以琳。

這樣，人從日落之處必敬畏耶和華的名，從日出之地也必敬畏他的榮耀，因為他必像狹急的河流沖來，耶和華的氣必向他催逼。

蛇在婦人後面，從口中吐出水來，好像江河一樣，要把婦人沖去。地卻幫助了那婦人，張開口，把從龍口中吐出來的河水吞了。

摩押的毀滅多麼厲害，他們的哀號多麼悽慘！摩押怎樣蒙羞轉背！這樣摩押就成了它四圍眾人譏笑和驚駭的對象。”

從何羅念傳出哀號的聲音，說：‘荒涼了，大大毀滅了！’摩押毀滅了，它的孩童發出哀叫（“它的孩童發出哀叫”或參照《七十士譯本》譯作“哀叫之聲直達瑣珥”）。在上魯希的路上，摩押人隨走隨哭；從何羅念下來的途中，聽見他們因城被毀發出悽慘的哀號聲。”

願海和海中充滿的，都翻騰響鬧，願世界和住在世上的也都發聲；

以下是耶和華對耶利米先知所說的話，論到巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒要來攻打埃及地。

你們富有的人哪，應當為那將要臨到你們的災禍哭泣哀號。

如果我餓了，我也不用對你說；因為世界和其中所充滿的，都是我的。

城門啊，要哀號！城鎮啊，要呼叫！非利士全地啊，要戰慄發軟！因為有煙從北方來，在他的行伍中沒有離隊逃走的。

但是如果有人告訴你們：“這是獻過祭的食物。”那麼，為了那告訴你們的人，也為了良心的緣故，就不要吃。

但他必用氾濫的洪水，盡行毀滅尼尼微之地，把他的仇敵趕入黑暗之中。

耶和華說：“到那日，必有呼叫的聲音從魚門發出來，必有哀號從新區發出來，必有崩裂巨響從山間發出來。瑪革提施的居民哪！你們要哀號，因為所有的商人都滅亡了；所有稱銀子的都被剪除了。

必有無數的軍兵在他面前像洪水沖沒，並且潰敗；立約的君也必這樣。

天使又對我說：“你所看見那淫婦坐著的眾水，就是多種民族、群眾、邦國，方言的人。

萬軍之主耶和華摸地，地就融化，住在地上的都要悲哀。這地必像尼羅河高漲，像埃及的大河退落。那在天上建立樓閣，在大地之上奠立穹蒼；又吩咐海水，把海水倒在地上的；耶和華就是他的名。

拿著七碗的七位天使中，有一位來跟我講話，說：“你來，我要把那坐在眾水之上的大淫婦所要受的審判指示你。

我要以公平為準繩，以公義為線鉈；冰雹必把謊言的遮蔽沖去，大水必漫過庇護所。”

因此我說：“要轉開你們的眼，不要望著我，讓我痛哭吧！不要因我人民的毀滅，而急急安慰我。”因為主萬軍之耶和華使“異象谷”有驚恐、踐踏、混亂的日子：城牆被拆毀，哀聲傳到山上。

因為地和地上所充滿的都是屬於主的。

“快跑的跑不掉，勇士也不能逃脫；他們在北方、在幼發拉底河邊，都絆跌仆倒。那像尼羅河上漲，像江河的水翻騰的是誰呢？埃及像尼羅河上漲，像江河的水翻騰；它說：‘我要上漲，淹蓋大地；我要毀滅城鎮和城裡的居民。’
