“ And it shall come about on that day,” declares the Lord,“ that the heart of the king and the hearts of the leaders will fail; and the priests will tremble, and the prophets will be astonished.”

“ In that day,” declares the Lord,“ the king and the officials will lose heart, the priests will be horrified, and the prophets will be appalled.”

“ A dark day is coming,” announces the Lord.“ The king and his officials will lose hope. The priests will be shocked. And the prophets will be terrified.”

“ In that day, declares the Lord, courage shall fail both king and officials. The priests shall be appalled and the prophets astounded.”

“ In that day,” says the Lord,“ the king and the officials will tremble in fear. The priests will be struck with horror, and the prophets will be appalled.”

“ On that day”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ the king and the officials will lose their courage. The priests will tremble in fear, and the prophets will be scared speechless.”

“ And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord,“ That the heart of the king shall perish, And the heart of the princes; The priests shall be astonished, And the prophets shall wonder.”

And it shall come to pass at that day, saith Jehovah, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.

“ So My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will have no place in the council of My people, nor will they be written down in the register of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel, so that you may know that I am the Lord God.It is definitely because they have misled My people by saying,‘ Peace!’ when there is no peace. And when anyone builds a wall, behold, they plaster it over with whitewash;so tell those who plaster it over with whitewash, that it will fall. A flooding rain will come, and you, hailstones, will fall, and a violent wind will break out.Behold, when the wall has fallen, will you not be asked,‘ Where is the plaster with which you plastered it?’ ”Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:“ I will make a violent wind break out in My wrath. There will also be in My anger a flooding rain and hailstones to consume it in wrath.So I will tear down the wall which you plastered over with whitewash and hurl it down to the ground, so that its foundation is exposed; and when it falls, you will perish in its midst. And you will know that I am the Lord.So I will expend My wrath on the wall and on those who have plastered it over with whitewash; and I will say to you,‘ The wall is gone and those who plastered it are gone,along with the prophets of Israel who prophesy to Jerusalem, and who see a vision of peace for her when there is no peace,’ declares the Lord God.

Be delayed and horrified, Blind yourselves and be blind; They become drunk, but not with wine, They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.For the Lord has poured over you a spirit of deep sleep, He has shut your eyes— the prophets; And He has covered your heads— the seers.

And where are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying,‘ The king of Babylon will not come against you or against this land’?

Then the city was breached, and all the warriors fled and left the city at night by way of the gate between the two walls which was by the king’s garden, though the Chaldeans were all around the city. And they went by way of the Arabah.

But in the morning, when the wine had gone out of Nabal, his wife told him these things, and his heart died within him so that he became like a stone.About ten days later, the Lord struck Nabal and he died.

And when Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, they fled and left the city at night by way of the king’s garden through the gate between the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.But the army of the Chaldeans pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and they took him and brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he passed sentence on him.

Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be demoralized within them; And I will confuse their strategy, So that they will resort to idols and ghosts of the dead, And to mediums and spiritists.

‘ Look, you scoffers, and be astonished, and perish; For I am accomplishing a work in your days, A work which you will never believe, though someone should describe it to you.’ ”

“ For from the least of them to the greatest of them, Everyone is greedy for gain, And from the prophet to the priest Everyone deals falsely.They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, Saying,‘ Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace.

For this reason my loins are full of anguish; Pains have seized me like the pains of a woman in labor. I am so bewildered I cannot hear, so terrified I cannot see.My mind reels, horror overwhelms me; The twilight I longed for has been turned into trembling for me.

The officials of Zoan are mere fools; The advice of Pharaoh’s wisest advisers has become stupid. How can you say to Pharaoh,“ I am a son of the wise, a son of ancient kings”?Well then, where are your wise men? Please let them tell you, And let them understand what the Lord of armies Has planned against Egypt.

Then the city was broken into, and all the men of war fled by night by way of the gate between the two walls that were beside the king’s garden, though the Chaldeans were all around the city. And they went by way of the Arabah.

My heart has been struck like grass and has withered, Indeed, I forget to eat my bread.

The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule on their own authority; And My people love it this way! But what will you do when the end comes?

On that day the Egyptians will become like women, and they will tremble and be in great fear because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of armies, which He is going to wave over them.
