西底迦王说：“我害怕那些已经向迦勒底人投降的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人会把我交给他们，任由他们羞辱。”

西底家王对耶利米说：“我怕那些投降迦勒底人的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人将我交在他们手中，他们戏弄我。”

西底家王对耶利米说：“我怕那些投降迦勒底人的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他们手中，他们就戏弄我。”

西底家王對耶利米說：“我害怕那些已向迦勒底人投降的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他們手中，他們就會凌辱我。”

西底家王對耶利米說：『我，我怕那些投降迦勒底人的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人會將我交在他們手中，他們會作弄我。』

西底家王謂耶利米曰、我恐迦勒底人、付我於投降之猶大人手、彼則侮我、

西底家王告耶利米曰、猶大人已先歸誠於迦勒底人、我甚恐、若彼委我於猶大人、使凌辱予、則奈何。

西底家王謂耶利米曰、有猶大人已降迦勒底人、我恐迦勒底人付我於彼之手、使彼凌辱我、

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Jews who have gone over to the Babylonians, for the Babylonians may hand me over to them and they will mistreat me.”

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I’m afraid of some of the Jews. They are the ones who have gone over to the side of the Babylonians. The Babylonians might hand me over to them. And those Jews will treat me badly.”

King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Judeans who have deserted to the Chaldeans, lest I be handed over to them and they deal cruelly with me.”

“ But I am afraid to surrender,” the king said,“ for the Babylonians may hand me over to the Judeans who have defected to them. And who knows what they will do to me!”

But King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am worried about the Judeans who have defected to the Chaldeans. They may hand me over to the Judeans to abuse me.”

Then King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am in fear of the Jews who have deserted to the Chaldeans, for they may hand me over to them, and they will abuse me.”

And Zedekiah the king said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Jews who have defected to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they abuse me.”

And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen away to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

But King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am worried about the Judeans who have deserted to the Chaldeans. They may hand me over to the Judeans to abuse me.”

And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

Then King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Judeans who have deserted to the Babylonians. The Babylonians might hand me over to them and they will torture me.”

Zedekiah the king said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Jews who have defected to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.”

虽然这样，仍有很多犹太的官员信了耶稣，只是在法利赛人面前不敢公开承认，因为害怕会被赶出会堂。

从那时起，彼拉多想要释放耶稣，可是犹太人却一直喊叫：“如果你释放这个人，你就不是凯撒的忠臣。凡自以为王的，就是背叛凯撒。”彼拉多听了这话，就带着耶稣来到一个地方，名叫“铺石地”，那地方希伯来话叫厄巴大。彼拉多在那里开庭审判祂。

所有留在犹大王宫的妇女都必被巴比伦王的将领俘虏，她们会讽刺你说，‘你被好友欺骗、误导，当你陷入泥潭时，他们就离弃了你。’

耶和华说：“安慰你们的是我，是我。你为什么要害怕难逃一死、生命如草芥的世人呢？难道你忘记了创造你、铺展穹苍、奠立大地根基的耶和华吗？难道因为试图毁灭你的欺压者大发怒气，你就整天惊恐不安吗？他们的怒气如今在哪里呢？

“你们惧怕谁，以致对我说谎，不把我放在心上，忘记我？你们不再敬畏我，是因为我长期沉默吗？

惧怕人的必自陷网罗，信靠耶和华的必安稳。

“跟造物主争辩的人有祸了！他不过是世上瓦器中的一件。陶泥怎能对陶匠说，‘你在做什么’？受造之物怎能说，‘造我的没手艺’？对父亲说‘你生的是什么’或对母亲说‘你产的是什么’的人有祸了！”

就对为他拿兵器的人说：“拔出你的刀来刺死我吧，免得那些未受割礼的人来刺杀和凌辱我。”但拿兵器的人非常害怕，不敢动手，扫罗就自己伏刀自尽了。

亚比米勒连忙对为他拿兵器的年轻人说：“拔刀杀了我吧，免得人们说，‘一位妇人杀了他。’”于是，那年轻人刺死了他。

因惧怕群众，被族人藐视，就默不作声、不敢出门？

扫罗对撒母耳说：“我犯罪了！我违背了耶和华的命令和你的指示。我因惧怕百姓，就听从了他们。

护卫长尼布撒拉旦把城中的余民以及投降的人都掳到巴比伦，

他们都兴高采烈，并喊道：“把参孙带来让我们消遣消遣。”于是，有人把参孙从监牢里提出来供他们消遣，他们让他站在两根柱子中间。

西底迦王说：“你们可以随意处置他，我不会阻止你们。”
