I thought that after she had done all this she would return to me but she did not, and her unfaithful sister Judah saw it.

Yet even after she had done all that, I thought that she might come back to me. But she did not. Her sister, unfaithful Judah, saw what she did.

I said after she had done all these things,‘ She will return to me;’ but she didn’t return; and her treacherous sister Judah saw it.

爾之姊撒馬利亞及其眾女、居於爾左、爾之妹所多馬及其眾女、居於爾右、

王與群伯、使趨承者致書、遍以色列猶大二族、曰、以色列族、當歸亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列之上帝、凡不見害於亞述列王之遺民者、必蒙耶和華祐、爾父兄違列祖之上帝耶和華、故見殲滅、今日之事為證、爾勿效尤。毋強爾項、濟乃父之惡、宜從耶和華。彼之聖室、業已成潔、歷世弗替、爾當入之、役事爾之上帝耶和華、則其震怒可息。爾之上帝耶和華仁慈矜憫、如爾歸之、必不棄爾、即爾見虜之子弟、亦蒙矜憫、得反斯土。趨承者遍行以法蓮馬拿西諸邑、延及西布倫為人訕笑。亞設、馬拿西、西布倫中有數人、卑以自牧、詣耶路撒冷。在猶大地上帝使民一心、遵從王與群伯所傳耶和華命。○

耶和華遣其先知先見者、責以色列猶大二族、曰、當棄惡行、守我禁令禮儀、從我所命諸先知、傳爾列祖之律例、斯民弗聽、強項不馴、不信其上帝耶和華、與列祖無異。

彼必曰、耶和華既戕我、必醫痊我、既擊我、必彌縫我、莫若歸之、二三日之後、彼將甦我、使我復興、與之偕生。我必黽勉以從耶和華之道、彼之祐我、若晨光之朗耀、若春雨之潤澤。主曰、以法蓮猶大、我將何如視爾、爾之敬虔、有若朝雲、立見其散、有若晨露、立見其晞、

以色列族因蹈愆尤、遂致殞沒、當歸誠爾之上帝耶和華、

以色列族既背我、狥欲而行、我棄之、與以離書、其姊妹猶大族、屢欺侮予、毫無畏葸、狥欲而行、我鑒察之、彼狥欲特甚、崇拜木石、污衊斯邦、厥後佯為歸誠、心不誠慤。○

人子、昔有二女、一母所生、姊名亞何拉、即撒馬利亞、妹名亞何利巴、即耶路撒冷、俱為處子、於歸乎我、賜生子女、當其盛年、往埃及行淫、為男擁抱。
