Therefore the showers have been withheld, and no spring rains have fallen. Yet you have the brazen look of a prostitute; you refuse to blush with shame.

So I have held back the showers. I have kept the spring rains from falling. But you still have the bold face of a prostitute. You refuse to blush with shame.

Therefore the showers have been withheld, and the spring rain has not come; yet you have the forehead of a whore; you refuse to be ashamed.

That’s why even the spring rains have failed. For you are a brazen prostitute and completely shameless.

This is why the showers haven’t come— why there has been no spring rain. You have the brazen look of a prostitute and refuse to be ashamed.

於我目前、糈糧已絕、在我天主之殿中、欣喜歡樂、亦皆止息、所播之種、壞於土塊之下、倉空廩虛、遂至傾圮、因禾稼盡枯、牲畜哀鳴、群牛散亂、因牧場無草、群羊皆斃、皆斃或作困憊曠野牧場、如被火焚、田園樹木、若烈焰所燬、我為之呼籲主、野獸亦仰望主、因溪河悉涸、曠野牧場、若為火焚、

我已使土地山岡旱乾、使五穀酒油、及地之一切所產、盡皆匱乏、使人與畜俱不得力、勞苦徒然、原文作使旱臨於土地山岡臨於穀酒油及地之一切所產臨於人及畜臨於一切所勞苦者○

穡前三月、我禁止雨降、降雨於一邑、不降雨於他邑、一田得雨、他田不得雨、遂致乾旱、

彼行可惡之事、知慚愧乎、彼毫不慚愧、不羞恥、故必傾仆於傾仆者之中、我鑒察之時、必顛蹶、主言之矣、○

主天主曰、爾行此諸事、俱無羞恥之淫婦所行、爾心何其敗哉、爾在各路頭、建爾青樓、在諸街衢、建爾高臺、以為妓室、爾不圖贈、不若妓女、乃若淫婦、背夫與人私、人素贈金於妓、惟爾以金贈於所愛者、賄之由四方來、與爾行淫、爾之行淫、與他婦相反、人不隨爾以行淫、爾以金贈人、人不以金贈爾、如是爾與他婦相反也、
