但是我的話、我的律例、就是我所吩咐我僕人眾神言人的、豈不是趕上而捉住了你們列祖，以致他們回轉來、說：萬軍之永恆主定意怎樣照我們的行徑和作為來辦我們，他已經照樣辦我們了』？

萬軍之永恆主起了誓，說：『我怎樣想，事就怎樣成，我怎樣計畫，事就怎樣立定；

雅各把他的兒子們叫來，說：『你們要聚集攏來，我好把你們日後所要遇見的事告訴你們；

然而永恆主向猶大所發的猛烈怒氣還沒有轉消，是為了瑪拿西惹他發怒的那些事的緣故。

我知道我死了以後、你們一定會全然敗壞，偏離我所吩咐你們走的道路，行永恆主所看為壞的事，將你們手所作的去惹他發怒，那麼日後就必有災禍臨到你們身上來。』摩西將以下這首歌的話誦讀到儘末了給以色列全體大眾聽：

因為以色列人也要許多年日過着靜居守己的生活；沒有王、沒有首領、沒有祭祀、沒有聖柱、沒有以弗得、沒有家神像。後來以色列人必回轉過來，尋求他們的上帝永恆主、和他們的王大衛；日後他們必戰驚恐懼地傾慕永恆主和他的恩惠。

他們若在被擄到之地心裏回想起來、而回心轉意，在擄了他們者之地懇求你說：「我們犯了罪了，我們作了孽了，我們行了惡了」；

因為萬軍之永恆主這麼說：『你們列祖惹了我震怒時，我怎樣定意降禍於你們，並不改變心意，萬軍之永恆主說，如今在這些日子、我也照樣再行定意降福與耶路撒冷和猶大家；你們不要懼怕。

終久你的皮肉你的肉身衰殘，你就哀哼着說：『唉！我怎樣恨惡管教，我的心怎樣藐視勸責，不聽我導師的話，不傾耳聽從教師呀！如今我在會眾公會中幾乎受到極刑了！』
