then there shall enter by the gates of this city kings and princes who sit on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their officials, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And this city shall be inhabited forever.

then kings who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this city with their officials. They and their officials will come riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by the men of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited forever.

If you do this, then the kings and princes who follow in David’s succession and ride in chariots or on horses will continue to enter through these gates, as well as their officials and the people of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem. This city will always be filled with people.

For if you will indeed obey this word, then there shall enter the gates of this house kings who sit on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their servants and their people.

Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.’”

In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

“ For thus says the Lord: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,

then also my covenant with David my servant may be broken, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and my covenant with the Levitical priests my ministers.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering,

“ This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast.

Then you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will fill with drunkenness all the inhabitants of this land: the kings who sit on David’s throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules,then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying,‘ You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’

The Lord swore to David a sure oath from which he will not turn back:“ One of the sons of your body I will set on your throne.If your sons keep my covenant and my testimonies that I shall teach them, their sons also forever shall sit on your throne.”For the Lord has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place:“ This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

And David took from him 1,700 horsemen, and 20,000 foot soldiers. And David hamstrung all the chariot horses but left enough for 100 chariots.

He said,“ These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them to his chariots and to be his horsemen and to run before his chariots.

I will establish his offspring forever and his throne as the days of the heavens.If his children forsake my law and do not walk according to my rules,if they violate my statutes and do not keep my commandments,then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes,but I will not remove from him my steadfast love or be false to my faithfulness.I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips.Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David.His offspring shall endure forever, his throne as long as the sun before me.Like the moon it shall be established forever, a faithful witness in the skies.” Selah

Only he must not acquire many horses for himself or cause the people to return to Egypt in order to acquire many horses, since the Lord has said to you,‘ You shall never return that way again.’

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

Thus says the Lord:“ Write this man down as childless, a man who shall not succeed in his days, for none of his offspring shall succeed in sitting on the throne of David and ruling again in Judah.”
