And will you profane Me among My people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, killing people who should not die, and keeping people alive who should not live, by your lying to My people who listen to lies?”

For the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry and struck him; I hid and was angry, And he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.

“ Yet your eyes and your heart are for nothing but your covetousness, For shedding innocent blood, And practicing oppression and violence.”

For a bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,

So they did in Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there.Also, before they burned the fat, the priest’s servant would come and say to the man who sacrificed,“ Give meat for roasting to the priest, for he will not take boiled meat from you, but raw.”And if the man said to him,“ They should really burn the fat first; then you may take as much as your heart desires,” he would then answer him,“ No, but you must give it now; and if not, I will take it by force.”Therefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord, for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.

not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;

Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money,

By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.

These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.

whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame— who set their mind on earthly things.

Why do you kick at My sacrifice and My offering which I have commanded in My dwelling place, and honor your sons more than Me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel My people?’

For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!
