So here is the message the Lord has spoken against him. The Lord is telling him,“‘ “You will not win the battle over Zion. Its people hate you and make fun of you. The people of Jerusalem lift up their heads proudly as you run away.

this is the word that the Lord has spoken concerning him:“‘ She despises you, she scorns you— the virgin daughter of Zion; she wags her head behind you— the daughter of Jerusalem.

the Lord has spoken this word against him:“ The virgin daughter of Zion despises you and laughs at you. The daughter of Jerusalem shakes her head in derision as you flee.

this is the word which Jehovah hath spoken concerning him: The virgin daughter of Zion hath despised thee and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

this is the word the Lord has spoken against him: Virgin Daughter Zion despises you and scorns you: Daughter Jerusalem shakes her head behind your back.

This[ is] the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee,[ and] laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

this is the word which Yahweh has spoken concerning him. The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.

I also could speak like you, if you were in my place; I could pile up words against you and I could shake my head at you.

With what can I equate you? To what can I compare you, O Daughter Jerusalem? To what can I liken you so that I might comfort you, O Virgin Daughter Zion? Your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you?נ( Nun)

“ Sing out and be happy, Zion my daughter! For look, I have come; I will settle in your midst,” says the LORD.

Then I will tell about all your praiseworthy acts; in the gates of Daughter Zion I will rejoice because of your deliverance.”

“ Tell these people this, Jeremiah:‘ My eyes overflow with tears day and night without ceasing. For my people, my dear children, have suffered a crushing blow. They have suffered a serious wound.

Daughter Zion is left isolated, like a hut in a vineyard, or a shelter in a cucumber field; she is a besieged city.

Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Look! Your king is coming to you: he is legitimate and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey– on a young donkey, the foal of a female donkey.

You will be broken, O nations; you will be shattered! Pay attention, all you distant lands of the earth! Get ready for battle, and you will be shattered! The Philistine said to David,“ Come here to me, so I can give your flesh to the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the field!”But David replied to the Philistine,“ You are coming against me with sword and spear and javelin. Proclaim this among the nations:“ Prepare for a holy war! Call out the warriors! Let all these fighting men approach and attack!Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears! Let the weak say,‘ I too am a warrior!’Lend your aid and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves to that place.” Bring down, O LORD, your warriors!Let the nations be roused and let them go up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit in judgment on all the surrounding nations.

Your servant has struck down both the lion and the bear. This uncircumcised Philistine will be just like one of them. For he has defied the armies of the living God!”

“ The virgin Israel has fallen down and will not get up again. She is abandoned on her own land with no one to help her get up.”

Look, the LORD announces to the entire earth:“ Say to Daughter Zion,‘ Look, your deliverer comes! Look, his reward is with him and his reward goes before him!’”

“ Tell the people of Zion,‘ Look, your king is coming to you, unassuming and seated on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”

God is our strong refuge; he is truly our helper in times of trouble.For this reason we do not fear when the earth shakes, and the mountains tumble into the depths of the sea,when its waves crash and foam, and the mountains shake before the surging sea.( Selah)The river’s channels bring joy to the city of God, the special, holy dwelling place of the sovereign One.God lives within it, it cannot be moved. The LORD delivers and vindicates me! I fear no one! The LORD protects my life! I am afraid of no one!When evil men attack me to devour my flesh, when my adversaries and enemies attack me, they stumble and fall.Even when an army is deployed against me, I do not fear. Even when war is imminent, I remain confident.
