But the noble make noble plans, and by noble deeds they stand.

But those who are noble make noble plans. And by doing noble things they succeed.

But he who is noble plans noble things, and on noble things he stands.

But generous people plan to do what is generous, and they stand firm in their generosity.

But a noble person plans noble things; he stands up for noble causes.

So the disciples, each in accordance with his financial ability, decided to send relief to the brothers living in Judea.They did so, sending their financial aid to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.

One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty.A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied.

My point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.Each one of you should give just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver.And God is able to make all grace overflow to you so that because you have enough of everything in every way at all times, you will overflow in every good work.Just as it is written,“ He has scattered widely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever.”Now God who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your supply of seed and will cause the harvest of your righteousness to grow.You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous on every occasion, which is producing through us thanksgiving to God,

that during a severe ordeal of suffering, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in the wealth of their generosity.

And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.And if you lend to those from whom you hope to be repaid, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, so that they may be repaid in full.But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to ungrateful and evil people.

He generously gives to the needy; his integrity endures. He will be vindicated and honored.

So Peter got up and went with them, and when he arrived they brought him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him, crying and showing him the tunics and other clothing Dorcas used to make while she was with them.

Then David asked,“ Is anyone still left from the family of Saul, so that I may extend kindness to him for the sake of Jonathan?”Now there was a servant from Saul’s house named Ziba, so he was summoned to David. The king asked him,“ Are you Ziba?” He replied,“ At your service.”The king asked,“ Is there not someone left from Saul’s family, that I may extend God’s kindness to him?” Ziba said to the king,“ One of Jonathan’s sons is left; both of his feet are crippled.”The king asked him,“ Where is he?” Ziba told the king,“ He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.So King David had him brought from the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed low with his face toward the ground. David said,“ Mephibosheth?” He replied,“ Yes, at your service.”David said to him,“ Don’t be afraid, because I will certainly extend kindness to you for the sake of Jonathan your father. You will be a regular guest at my table.”Then Mephibosheth bowed and said,“ Of what importance am I, your servant, that you show regard for a dead dog like me?”Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul’s attendant, and said to him,“ Everything that belonged to Saul and to his entire house I hereby give to your master’s grandson.You will cultivate the land for him– you and your sons and your servants. You will bring its produce and it will be food for your master’s grandson to eat. But Mephibosheth, your master’s grandson, will be a regular guest at my table.”( Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.)Ziba said to the king,“ Your servant will do everything that my lord the king has instructed his servant to do.” So Mephibosheth was a regular guest at David’s table, just as though he were one of the king’s sons.Now Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Mica. All the members of Ziba’s household were Mephibosheth’s servants.Mephibosheth was living in Jerusalem, for he was a regular guest at the king’s table. But both his feet were crippled.

If I have refused to give the poor what they desired, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,If I ate my morsel of bread myself, and did not share any of it with orphans–but from my youth I raised the orphan like a father, and from my mother’s womb I guided the widow!If I have seen anyone about to perish for lack of clothing, or a poor man without a coat,whose heart did not bless me as he warmed himself with the fleece of my sheep,if I have raised my hand to vote against the orphan, when I saw my support in the court,
