我聞是事、中懷畏懼、唇齒震動、骨骸若朽、戰慄不已、敵雖至此、加我以難、我尚納慰、

人子、爾圖繪巴比倫王軍旅出國、至歧途、有衢可達二邑、一至亞捫之喇巴、一至猶大之耶路撒冷城垣。蓋巴比倫王躑躅歧途、不知所之、故卜以矢、問偶像、察牲肝、以決從違。據繇辭、當右往耶路撒冷、發鎚破之、厥口孔張、大聲號呼、欲行殺戮、復發鎚攻門、建營築壘。耶路撒冷人既與法老盟、則以巴比倫之卜筮為不足信、巴比倫王追憶其背約之罪、必取其邑。

曰、希西家云、今日我遘患難、有譴責我、欺蔑我者、若婦當產而無力、

敵侵我境、遣熊羆之士、以修睦、立於邑外、哭泣不已、

耶和華曰、我將有為於以色列族、使聽之者必震其耳。

日月星辰、必有異象、地上諸國、困苦顛連、海波漰湱、世所必至者、人人危懼、至於喪膽、天象震動故也、

希西家王十四年、亞述王西拿基立攻陷猶大諸邑、

我但以理喪失其魂、致染疾病、久之始愈、然後起立、而務王事、我以所見之異象、不勝駭愕、識其兆者、迄無一人。

故我以色列族之上帝耶和華必降災於猶大及耶路撒冷、使凡聽聞者、必震其耳。

告我者其言如此、我但以理中心鬱陶、憂形於色、藏諸五內。

猶大王耶路撒冷民、宜聽耶和華之言、萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華云、我必降災於斯土、聽之者必震其耳。

理家事希勒家子、以利亞金、繕寫設拿、史官亞薩子約亞、自裂其衣、以臘沙基言反告於王。

受膏者曰、主耶和華助予、使我崇朝儆醒傾耳諦聽若弟子之受教、如是則能善為說辭、慰藉困苦之人。

何西王九年、亞述陷撒馬利亞、擄以色列族、至亞述地置於坷散河旁之哈臘、哈拔、及米太族諸邑。

耶和華遂使迦勒底軍、亞蘭軍、摩押軍、亞捫軍、滅猶大、應耶和華命厥僕諸先知之言、

我震怒斯民、使亞述人、為杖箠以擊之、亞述人亦有禍矣、我民偽善、我必震怒、使亞述人擊之、攘奪其貨、蹂躪其身、若逵衢之糞壤。
