恐惧四面笼罩着他，步步紧追着他。

我听到这些，就胆战心惊，嘴唇哆嗦，四肢无力，双腿发抖。但我仍要静候灾难临到入侵者的日子。

“人子啊，你要为巴比伦王的刀画出两条进攻之路，两条路要从一个地方出发，要在通往城邑的路口设路标。一条路通往亚扪的拉巴城，一条路通往犹大的坚城耶路撒冷。巴比伦王将站在两路的岔口，摇签求问他的神像，察看祭牲的肝。他右手拿到的是攻打耶路撒冷的签，于是，他用撞城锤来攻耶路撒冷的城门，厮杀吶喊，建垒筑台围攻城池。犹大人必认为这是虚假的征兆。他们曾向巴比伦王发誓效忠，但巴比伦王要使他们想起自己的罪，并掳走他们。

对他说：“希西迦说，‘今日是遭难、蒙羞、受辱的日子，就像婴儿要出生，产妇却无力生产一样。

看啊，他们的勇士在街上哀号，求和的使者悲痛哭泣。

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我要在以色列做一件令人震惊的事。

“日月星辰必显出异兆，怒海汹涌、波涛翻腾，令各国惊恐不安。天体必震动，人类想到世界要面临的事都吓得魂不附体。

希西迦王执政第十四年，亚述王西拿基立起兵攻取了犹大所有的坚城。

我但以理精疲力尽，病了几天。后来我起来照常办理王的事务，但我对这异象感到惊奇不已，不明白它的意思。

所以，以色列的上帝耶和华要在耶路撒冷和犹大降下大灾难，凡听见这事的人都必耳鸣。

“这就是我的梦。我但以理心中十分害怕，脸色苍白，但我没有把这事告诉别人。”

你要说，‘犹大王和耶路撒冷的居民啊，你们要听耶和华的话！以色列的上帝——万军之耶和华说，看啊，我要在这里降下灾祸，听见这消息的人都必耳鸣。

于是，宫廷总管以利亚敬、书记舍伯那和史官约亚都撕裂衣服，去向希西迦禀告亚述的将军说的话。

主耶和华赐我教导的能力，使我知道用什么话帮助疲乏的人。每天早晨，主唤醒我，叫我像受教者那样侧耳聆听。

何细亚执政第九年，撒玛利亚沦陷。亚述王把以色列人掳到亚述，安置在哈腊、歌散的哈博河一带以及玛代人的各城。

耶和华差遣迦勒底人、亚兰人、摩押人和亚扪人来攻打约雅敬，毁灭犹大，正如祂借着祂的仆人——众先知所说的。

耶和华说：“亚述王有祸了！他是我的愤怒之棍，他手中拿着我发烈怒的杖。我要差遣他去攻打一个不虔敬的国家，一个惹我发怒的民族，去抢夺、掳掠他们的财物，像践踏街上的泥土一样践踏他们。
