「當災難的日子一過，『太陽變黑，月亮無光，眾星隕落，天體震動。』

那是降烈怒的日子，是困苦艱難的日子，是摧殘毀壞的日子，是黑暗幽冥的日子，是陰霾密佈的日子，是吹號呐喊、攻打堅城高壘的日子。

日月昏暗，星辰無光。

羔羊揭開第六印的時候，我看見大地震發生了，太陽變得像黑毛布一樣黑，整個月亮變成血紅色，天上的星辰都墜落，好像未成熟的無花果被狂風吹落一般。天空也像書卷被捲起來，所有的山嶺和海島都被挪離原位。

到那日，耶和華必在天上懲罰天上的眾權能者，在地上懲罰地上的君王。

主耶和華說：「到那日，我要使太陽中午落下，使白晝變為黑暗。我要使你們的節期變為喪禮，叫你們的歡歌變為哀歌。我要使你們都腰束麻布，剃光頭髮；我要使你們傷心欲絕，如喪獨生子；我要使那日成為痛苦的日子。」
