既暮、有老者自田工作而歸、彼乃以法蓮山地人、旅於基比亞、此地之人、屬便雅憫族、老者舉目、見旅人在衢、問曰、爾奚自、將何往、曰、我自猶大伯利恆來、往以法蓮山隅、原居於彼、曾至猶大伯利恆、今詣耶和華室、無人接我入室、驢有芻糧、我與妾僕有餅及酒、罔有所缺、老者曰、願爾平安、爾之所需、我之責也、勿宿於衢、遂導之入室、以芻飼驢、乃濯足飲食、適快心時、邑之匪徒環宅叩門、謂室主老者曰、入爾室者、攜之出、以遂我欲、室主出、謂之曰、兄弟乎、勿行此惡、斯人既入我室、勿妄為、我有處女、及彼之妾在此、我俱出之、任爾玷辱、遂爾所欲、惟於斯人勿妄為、眾不聽、旅人執其妾出之、眾與淫合、竟夕狎侮、黎明始釋、昧爽、婦至其主所寓之室、仆於門前、迨乎既旦、其主夙興、啟門而出、欲行其途、見妾仆於門前、二手在閾、謂之曰、起、我儕行矣、不應、遂置之於驢、啟行而歸、至家、以刀肢解其妾、分為十二、徧送於以色列四境、見之者曰、自以色列人出埃及、以迄於今未有若此之事、未之見也、今當思議、而宣言焉、於是以色列眾咸出、自但至別是巴、暨基列地之民、有如一人、集於米斯巴、在耶和華前、民長與以色列諸支派、集為上帝民會、執兵步卒、共四十萬、以色列人至米斯巴、為便雅憫人所聞、以色列人問曰、此惡之由、請以告我、被殺之婦、其夫利未人對曰、我與妾至便雅憫之基比亞、止宿於彼、及夜、基比亞人起而攻我、環室、意欲殺我、淫污我妾致死、彼行淫亂謬妄之事、在以色列中、故我取妾而臠之、徧送於以色列四境、請爾以色列眾為之畫策、而建議焉、民眾悉起、有如一人、曰、我不返幕歸家、必掣籤、往攻基比亞、於以色列諸支派中、百取十、千取百、萬取千、使備餱糧、迨眾至便雅憫之基比亞、則依其在以色列中、所行謬妄之事以待之、於是以色列眾咸集、連絡為一、以攻斯邑、以色列支派遣人謂便雅憫支派曰、爾中所行何惡、今以基比亞之匪徒付我、俾致之死、以除惡於以色列中、便雅憫人不聽同儕以色列人之言、乃由諸邑、集於基比亞、欲與以色列人戰、便雅憫諸邑執兵之士、計二萬六千、其外有基比亞選兵、計七百、眾中有所簡左手較捷之卒七百、以繩發石、不爽毫髮、除便雅憫人外、以色列人之執兵者、計四十萬、皆戰士也、以色列人起、往伯特利、諮諏上帝曰、與便雅憫人戰、我中誰當先往、耶和華曰、猶大先往、以色列人晨興、對基比亞建營、出而列陳於基比亞、欲與便雅憫人戰、便雅憫人自基比亞出、戮以色列人二萬二千、

地為居民污衊、以其犯法律、違典章、背厥永約、
