Ephraim was a watchman with my God, a prophet; Yet the snare of a bird catcher is in all his ways, And there is only hostility in the house of his God.

以法莲曾作我神守望的；至于先知，在他一切的道上作为捕鸟人的网罗，在他神的家中怀怨恨。

以法蓮他求應援、不恃我上帝、彼偽先知、備設羅網、專陷齊民、居於他上帝殿、蓄怨不已、

以法蓮在我天主外、他有所望、彼偽先知、在其諸道、猶若網羅、張設以陷、在其神廟、惟懷怨恨、

The prophet, along with my God, is the watchman over Ephraim, yet snares await him on all his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.

People of Ephraim, the prophet, along with my God, is warning you of danger. But you set traps for him everywhere he goes. You hate him so much you even wait for him in God’s house.

The prophet is the watchman of Ephraim with my God; yet a fowler’s snare is on all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

The prophet is a watchman over Israel for my God, yet traps are laid for him wherever he goes. He faces hostility even in the house of God.

Ephraim’s watchman is with my God. Yet the prophet encounters a bird trap on all his pathways. Hostility is in the house of his God!

The watchman of Ephraim is with my God; But the prophet is a fowler’s snare in all his ways— Enmity in the house of his God.

Ephraim was a watchman with my God: as for the prophet, a fowler’s snare is in all his ways, and enmity in the house of his God.

The watchman of Ephraim[ was] with my God:[ but] the prophet[ is] a snare of a fowler in all his ways,[ and] hatred in the house of his God.

The prophet is a watchman over Ephraim on behalf of God, yet traps are laid for him along all of his paths; animosity rages against him in the land of his God.

A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler’s snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.

Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, you of the house of the king! For the judgment applies to you, Because you have been a trap at Mizpah, And a net spread out on Tabor.

“ Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, warn them from Me.

On your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who profess the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;

Then he said,“ Bring flour.” And he threw it into the pot, and said,“ Pour it out for the people that they may eat.” Then there was nothing harmful in the pot.

Now a woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying,“ Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord; and the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.”So Elisha said to her,“ What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said,“ Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.”Then he said,“ Go, borrow containers elsewhere for yourself, empty containers from all your neighbors— do not get too few.Then you shall come in and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour into all these containers; and you shall set aside what is full.”So she left him and shut the door behind her and her sons; they began bringing the containers to her, and she poured the oil.When the containers were full, she said to her son,“ Bring me another container.” But he said to her,“ There are no more containers.” Then the oil stopped.So she came and told the man of God. And he said,“ Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons can live on the rest.”

The royal officer on whose hand the king was leaning responded to the man of God and said,“ Even if the Lord were to make windows in heaven, could this thing happen?” Then he said,“ Behold, you are going to see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it.”

Then he went out to the spring of water and threw salt in it and said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ I have purified these waters; there shall not come from there death or unfruitfulness any longer.’ ”

But now bring me a musician.” And it came about, when the musician played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.And he said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Make this valley full of trenches.’For the Lord says this:‘ You will not see wind, nor will you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you will drink, you, your livestock, and your other animals.And this is an insignificant thing in the sight of the Lord; He will also give the Moabites into your hand.Then you shall strike every fortified city and every choice city, and cut down every good tree and stop up all the springs of water, and spoil every good plot of land with stones.’ ”And it happened in the morning about the time of offering the sacrifice, that behold, water came from the direction of Edom, and the country was filled with water.

“ Now as for you, son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for the house of Israel; so you will hear a message from My mouth and give them a warning from Me.

Obey your leaders and submit to them— for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account— so that they may do this with joy, not groaning; for this would be unhelpful for you.

So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, in accordance with the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

But I said,“ Oh, Lord God! Behold, the prophets are telling them,‘ You will not see a sword, nor will you have famine; on the contrary, I will give you lasting peace in this place.’ ”

And I set watchmen over you, saying,‘ Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said,‘ We will not listen.’

For there will be a day when watchmen On the hills of Ephraim call out,‘ Arise, and let’s go up to Zion, To the Lord our God.’ ”

But his attendant said,“ How am I to serve this to a hundred men?” Nevertheless he said,“ Give them to the people that they may eat, for this is what the Lord says:‘ They shall eat and have some left over.’ ”

Because of the sins of her prophets And the wrongdoings of her priests, Who have shed in her midst The blood of the righteous,

But Micaiah said,“ If you actually return safely, the Lord has not spoken by me.” And he said,“ Listen, all you people!”

At that time the royal officer had responded to the man of God and said,“ Now even if the Lord were to make windows in heaven, could such a thing as this happen?” And he had said,“ Behold, you are going to see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it.”

Therefore, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence afflicted with leprosy, as white as snow.

So he entered and shut the door behind them both, and he prayed to the Lord.Then he got up on the bed and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, his eyes on his eyes, his hands on his hands, and he bent down on him; and the flesh of the child became warm.Then he returned and walked in the house back and forth once, and went up and bent down on him; and the boy sneezed seven times, then the boy opened his eyes.And he called Gehazi and said,“ Call this Shunammite.” So he called her. And when she came to him, he said,“ Pick up your son.”Then she came in and fell at his feet and bowed down to the ground, and she picked up her son and left.

If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well.

Then he took the coat of Elijah that had fallen from him and struck the waters, and said,“ Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there; and Elisha crossed over.

They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, Saying,‘ Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace.

And the Lord said to him,‘ How?’ And he said,‘ I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ Then He said,‘ You shall entice him, and you will also prevail. Go and do so.’

The watchmen who make the rounds in the city found me, And I said,‘ Have you seen him whom my soul loves?’

Then Elisha prayed and said,“ Lord, please, open his eyes so that he may see.” And the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord and said,“ Please strike this people with blindness.” So He struck them with blindness in accordance with the word of Elisha.

Your prophets have seen for you Worthless and deceptive visions; And they have not exposed your wrongdoing So as to restore you from captivity, But they have seen for you worthless and misleading pronouncements.

And as they were burying a man, behold, they saw a marauding band; and they threw the man into the grave of Elisha. And when the man touched the bones of Elisha he revived and stood up on his feet.

The best of them is like a thorn bush, The most upright like a thorn hedge. The day when you post your watchmen, Your punishment is coming. Then their confusion will occur.

Now then, send orders and gather to me all Israel at Mount Carmel, together with 450 prophets of Baal and four hundred prophets of the Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

Now it happened after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying,“ Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will provide rain on the face of the earth.”

Then at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet approached and said,“ Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that You are God in Israel and that I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word.Answer me, Lord, answer me, so that this people may know that You, Lord, are God, and that You have turned their heart back.”Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood, and the stones and the dust; and it licked up the water that was in the trench.When all the people saw this, they fell on their faces; and they said,“ The Lord, He is God; the Lord, He is God!”

Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab,“ As the Lord, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall certainly be neither dew nor rain during these years, except by my word.”

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made horns of iron for himself and said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ With these you will gore the Arameans until they are destroyed!’ ”

But if through my lie the truth of God abounded to His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?

So the king of Israel assembled the prophets, about four hundred men, and said to them,“ Should I go to battle against Ramoth gilead or should I refrain?” And they said,“ Go up, for the Lord will hand it over to the king.”
