降災罰惡、其日已屆、以色列族必知之、因犯罪惡、蓄怨不已、故彼冒為先知、佯托感神、卒見愚蠢、而發狂疾、

降罰之日速至、施報之日將臨、以色列人必知偽先知愚魯、自言感神者顛狂、皆因爾多犯罪惡、大懷怨恨、

The days of punishment are coming, the days of reckoning are at hand. Let Israel know this. Because your sins are so many and your hostility so great, the prophet is considered a fool, the inspired person a maniac.

The time when God will punish you is coming. The day when he will judge you is near. I want Israel to know this. You have committed many sins. And you hate me very much. That’s why you think the prophet is foolish. You think the person the Lord speaks through is crazy.

The best of them is like a thorn bush, The most upright like a thorn hedge. The day when you post your watchmen, Your punishment is coming. Then their confusion will occur.

Now what will you do in the day of punishment, And in the devastation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your wealth?

This is what the Lord God says:“ Woe to the foolish prophets who are following their own spirit and have seen nothing!

They are worthless, a work of mockery; At the time of their punishment they will perish.

Your prophets have seen for you Worthless and deceptive visions; And they have not exposed your wrongdoing So as to restore you from captivity, But they have seen for you worthless and misleading pronouncements.

“ But if the prophet is persuaded so that he speaks a word, it is I, the Lord, who have persuaded that prophet; and I will stretch out My hand against him and eliminate him from among My people Israel.And they will bear the punishment for their wrongdoing; as the wrongdoing of the inquirer is, so the wrongdoing of the prophet will be,

because these are days of punishment, so that all things which have been written will be fulfilled.

“ The Lord has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, to be the overseer of the house of the Lord for every insane person who prophesies, to put him in the stocks and in the iron collar.

and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved.For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

Now Jehu went out to the servants of his master, and one said to him,“ Is everything well? Why did this crazy fellow come to you?” And he said to them,“ You know very well the man and his talk.”

It is definitely because they have misled My people by saying,‘ Peace!’ when there is no peace. And when anyone builds a wall, behold, they plaster it over with whitewash;

While Paul was stating these things in his defense, Festus* said in a loud voice,“ Paul, you are out of your mind! Your great learning is driving you insane.”But Paul* said,“ I am not insane, most excellent Festus; on the contrary, I am speaking out with truthful and rational words.

Her prophets are insolent, treacherous men; Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the Law.

“ Son of man, what is this proverb you people have about the land of Israel, saying,‘ The days are long, and every vision fails’?Therefore say to them,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ I will put an end to this proverb so that they will no longer use it as a proverb in Israel.” But tell them,“ The days are approaching as well as the fulfillment of every vision.For there will no longer be any false vision or deceptive divination within the house of Israel.For I the Lord will speak whatever word I speak, and it will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, for in your days, you rebellious house, I will speak the word and perform it,” declares the Lord God.’ ”Furthermore, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ Son of man, behold, the house of Israel is saying,‘ The vision that he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’Therefore say to them,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ None of My words will be delayed any longer. Whatever word I speak will be performed,” ’ ” declares the Lord God.

They have healed the brokenness of the daughter of My people superficially, Saying,‘ Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace.

And He said,“ What do you see, Amos?” And I said,“ A basket of summer fruit.” Then the Lord said to me,“ The end has come for My people Israel. I will not spare them any longer.

The great day of the Lord is near, Near and coming very quickly; Listen, the day of the Lord! In it the warrior cries out bitterly.That day is a day of anger, A day of trouble and distress, A day of destruction and desolation, A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick darkness,A day of trumpet and battle cry Against the fortified cities And the high corner towers.I will bring distress on mankind So that they will walk like those who are blind, Because they have sinned against the Lord; And their blood will be poured out like dust, And their flesh like dung.Neither their silver nor their gold Will be able to save them On the day of the Lord’s anger; And all the earth will be devoured By the fire of His jealousy, For He will make a complete end, Indeed a horrifying one, Of all the inhabitants of the earth.

“ And you, son of man, this is what the Lord God says to the land of Israel:‘ An end! The end is coming on the four corners of the land.Now the end is upon you, for I will send My anger against you; I will judge you according to your ways and bring all your abominations upon you.And My eye will have no pity on you, nor will I spare you, but I will bring your ways upon you, and your abominations will be among you; then you will know that I am the Lord!’“ This is what the Lord God says:‘ A disaster, a unique disaster, behold, it is coming!An end is coming; the end has come! It has awakened against you; behold, it has come!Your doom has come to you, you inhabitant of the land. The time has come, the day is near— panic rather than joyful shouting on the mountains.

Lord, Your hand is lifted up, yet they do not see it. They see Your zeal for the people and are put to shame; Indeed, fire will devour Your enemies.

So I will prove Myself great, show Myself holy, and make Myself known in the sight of many nations; and they will know that I am the Lord.” ’

For if we have lost our minds, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.

and a remnant will not be left to them, because I will bring disaster on the people of Anathoth— the year of their punishment.”

The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give her the cup of the wine of His fierce wrath.

If someone walking after wind and falsehood Had lied and said,‘ I will prophesy to you about wine and liquor,’ He would become a prophet to this people.

And when His own people heard about this, they came out to take custody of Him; for they were saying,“ He has lost His senses.”

I will first repay them double for their wrongdoing and their sin, because they have defiled My land; they have filled My inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable idols and their abominations.”

Also her mercenaries in her midst Are like fattened calves, For they too have turned away and have fled together; They did not stand their ground. For the day of their disaster has come upon them, The time of their punishment.

A sword will be on his arm And on his right eye! His arm will be totally withered, And his right eye will be blind.”

I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes; and they will know that I am the Lord, when I inflict My vengeance on them.” ’ ”

For the Lord has a day of vengeance, A year of retribution for the cause of Zion.

Causing the omens of diviners to fail, Making fools of fortune tellers; Causing wise men to turn back And making their knowledge ridiculous,

This is what the Lord of armies says:“ Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility; They tell a vision of their own imagination, Not from the mouth of the Lord.They keep saying to those who despise Me,‘ The Lord has said,“ You will have peace” ’; And as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, They say,‘ Disaster will not come on you.’

Ephraim was a watchman with my God, a prophet; Yet the snare of a bird catcher is in all his ways, And there is only hostility in the house of his God.
