『我必跟他們立個平安興隆之約；我必使惡獸從境內絕跡，他們就可以在曠野安然居住，在森林中平平安安地睡覺。

『住以色列城市的人必出去點火燒軍械；就是小盾大牌、弓、箭、梃杖、槍矛：都用來燒火，燒到七年；甚至他們也不必從田野上去撿柴，也不必從樹林裏去伐木；因為他們必用軍械去燒火；並且必搶那搶他們的人，劫那劫他們的人；這是主永恆主發神諭說的。

他必在許多別族之民間行審判，為遠方好多強盛的外國人斷定是非。他們必將刀打成犂頭，把矛打成鐮刀；這國不舉刀攻擊那國；大家都不再學習戰事。反而可以安坐、各在自己葡萄樹下，自己無花果樹下，也無人來驚嚇：因為萬軍之永恆主親口說了。

將來永恆主必作王管理全地；當那日永恆主必獨一無二，他的名必獨一無二。

住在至高者的隱密處的、就是居於全能者的蔭庇下。我要說到永恆主，我的避難所，我的營寨，我的上帝，我所倚靠的。他怎樣援救了你脫離捕鳥人的機檻，脫離毁滅人的陷阱；他用他自己的翎翼掩護着你；你避難於他的翅膀底下；他的忠信乃是盾牌圓楯。你不怕黑夜中的恐怖，白日間的飛箭；不怕幽暗中流行的瘟疫，或中午間滅人的毒病。雖有千人仆倒在你身旁，萬人倒斃在你右邊，這災也不能觸害着你。不過你要親眼看着，看到惡人遭報。你既將永恆主做你的避難所，將至高者做你的居所，禍患就必不臨到你，災病也不挨近你的家。因為他必為了你而吩咐他的使者，在你所行的路上都保護你。他們必用手托着你，免得你的腳碰着石頭。你必踹着猛獅和虺蛇，踐踏少壯獅子和大蛇。

人的驕傲必屈抑下來，人們的高傲必降為低微；惟獨永恆主在那日必被尊為崇高。

他必砍毁以法蓮的戰車，砍死耶路撒冷的戰馬；作戰的弓也必被砍折。他必向列國講和平；他的統治必從這海管到那海，從大河管到地極。

那日必有許多國皈依永恆主、做我的子民；我必住在你中間，你就知道是萬軍之永恆主差遣了我到你這裏來的。

當那日、你們各人都要招待鄰舍來坐在葡萄樹下、或無花果樹下：這是萬軍之永恆主發神諭說的。』

你們打糧食、必打到割取葡萄的時候；割取葡萄、必割到撒種的時候；你們必喫食物喫得飽，在你們境內安然居住。我必賜平安興隆於境內；你們躺臥，必沒有人驚嚇你們；我必使惡獸從你們境內絕跡；刀劍也不會經過你們的地。

當那日子人在猶大地必唱這首歌說：『我們有堅固的城；永恆主將得勝的救恩定為城牆外郭。
