因为我们短暂轻微的患难，是要为我们成就极大无比、永远的荣耀。

至于从天上来的智慧，首先是纯洁的，其次是和平的，温柔的，谦逊的，满有恩慈和善果，没有偏袒，没有虚伪。这是缔造和平的人，用和平所培植出来的义果。

耶和华虽严厉地管教我，却没有把我置于死地。

趁着还有指望的时候，要管教你的儿子；不可存心使他死亡。

肉身的父亲照着自己的意思管教我们，只有短暂的日子；唯有神管教我们，是为着我们的好处，使我们在他的圣洁上有分。

喜爱你律法的必有丰盛的平安，什么都不能绊倒他们。

因此，你们要喜乐。然而，你们现今在各种试炼中或许暂时会难过，

离弃正路的必受严厉的管教；恨恶责备的必致死亡。

公义的果效必是平安，公义的效验必是平静与安稳，直到永远。

但圣灵的果子是仁爱、喜乐、平安、忍耐、恩慈、良善、信实、温柔、节制；这样的事，是没有律法禁止的。

只有长大成人的，才能吃干粮，他们的官能因为操练纯熟，就能分辨是非了。

总要弃绝世俗以及老妇的无稽之谈；要操练自己达到敬虔的地步。因为操练身体，益处还少；唯独操练敬虔，凡事有益，享有今生和来世的应许。

我就用杖责罚他们的过犯，用鞭责罚他们的罪孽。

因为神的国不在于吃喝，而在于公义、和睦，以及圣灵里的喜乐。

他们满眼淫色，而且不住地犯罪。他们引诱心志不坚固的人。他们的心习惯了贪婪，是应当受咒诅的族类。
